I'm using G.Skill 2667 memory, when I set the "Memory Frequency" setting to 2667, changing nothing else (CPU and all other settings are default) and reboot the code indicator goes to bd and hangs. I've also tried it by selecting XMP profile 1, which reads as "DDR4-2667 15-15-15-35-1N-1.20V", same result, get the 'bd' code again. This is on 1.06, X99 Classified, 5960X. edit to add - I can set it to 2400 and it seems to work fine. I've only just started playing with it a bit, I don't have any drives in it yet, just the mb/cpu/ram and an old video card. probably doesn't matter, but just in case it's 4x8GB sticks.

I just flashed to the new bios and it seems so far it seems to have fixed all of my problems. Running 32gb Corsair 2800 ram at 2800 and 4.06 on the 5960 chip. Thank you so much. I was getting blue screens and failure to boot prior to the flash whenever I set XMP 1 profile. All better now.

What are you BSOD Codes? Are you RMA the Memory or the Motherboard? What "32gb Corsair 2800 ram" are you using?

Corsair dominator platinum 2800. Two different sets 16 gb tried. Both have same result. Either fails to boot or on starting windows goes to repair mode but doesn't recover. Isn't stable over 2400. Tried all frequencies. Also lost all sound this morning but it returned after clear CMOS. Another problem occurs. At default ram settings. Any CPU multiplier change causes CPU to run at 30-50 % constantly even at idle. And CPU multiplier shows 33 when at 35. Or 30 when at 33. The board is being RMAed. Ram is ok.

I want to add this. EVGA customer/Tech support is the best. They are there when you need them, always ready to help and a pleasure to deal with. Every computer that I have built since 2007 has had an EVGA motherboard. I wouldn't use anything else. They are the best.

Above someone posted the RAM compatibility with the motherboard. I don't see 2800mhz memory on the list. Is there a reason for that? I am running the GSkill 2400mhz 4x4GB, and pretty much have everything set on auto. I have XMP1 profile for the RAM set. I just installed windows 7 last night. Haven't had a blue screen yet. . Figured I'd run things a few days stock, before I start tweaking settings.

We are still fine tuning 2800MHz+ (especially Hynix) and expect to have another update this week with further improved support.

This. I'm sure if I bought the RVE I would already be RMA'ing because it's new and issues like the ones Jacob has posted here really help.

Gotcha. I can't build build mine until this Saturday so I'm hoping everything goes smoothly and I can get my ram running at a stable 2800 mhz. If not, it seems like EVGA is working on getting higher frequencies stable so it's just a matter of time.

looking forward to it. I'm trying to push my memory a bit now, and at 2750 when it's going through the boot cycle it gets stuck on 'bd' quite a bit. If I reload it over and over eventually it'll get past that, but it's definitely hit-or-miss. I'm pretty damn happy with the board so far, definitely glad I decided to stick with EVGA.

Jacob, I just won one of the 9 days of X99....the X99FTW. Any word if a bios is in the works to be compatible with the Xeon chips? I am going to use this setup for rendering and being able to get the 10 core/20 thread Xeon would be sweet. Thanks.
