Considering how unreliable is M.2 standard on (entire range of) X99 I doubt EVGA will ever provide any definite M.2 wifi card guidelines (unless they offer it's own model - look no further than Xonar support and now EVGA is manufacturing it's own sound card; same goes for Thunderbolt) . Intel doesn't help also because they do certify it for some vendors and do not for others. I read plenty of horror stories about intel wi-fi cards. Granted it's not very expensive thing, but still if you buy it, you expect it to work.
I read one thread on intel support when some folk asked about antennas for (can't recall now model name) of M.2 card. Basically intel rep response was that this card is supported only through OEM channel and there are no plans to provide support for customers outside that channel (!). Model with antennas was only supported on handful of motherboards and it was 4x the price. Quite weird way of doing things.
If I may add also one opinion about which USB3 port is disabled by connecting wi-fi to that E slot. EVGA should have offer user a choice which USB3 port is disabled. For some slot at the back of I/O is OK, for others it's not (my humble person) and better option would be to disable internal USB3 header for example. Simple stuff.
