Good day guys,
I am either having issues with the board or the latest drivers from EVGA.
When I do a fresh install (format and reload) of Windows 8.1 64bit the PC works 100% and even after doing all the updates it still works good. (I can shut down and reboot with no problems)
As soon as I install any drivers the pc wont shutdown or reboot properly it gives Blue screen and then reboots or sometimes the screen goes red and then I have to manually reboot. I even tried one driver at a time and still get this problem doesn't matter which driver I try first.

At first I thought it was issues with the Bios but have ruled that out I hope.
Does anyone have this problem? or is it maybe a issue with windows 8.1?

Any ideas would be appreciated :)

    Hi there,
I'm leaning towards this being a VGA issue and not a MB. Do you have another video card you can test your system with?

    Hey,
Changed to a AMD graphics card and all works good, I can restart and shutdown with no problems and have not had any blue screens since.

Thank you for the help Dustingg!
I just need to find another Nvidia card and see if it is a problem with Nvidia or was just an issue with my card I had in.

Glad you were able to get your computer back up and running. Consider the 980ti, or since you're now using AMD, their cards should be coming out this summer, hopefully.

Nice. What kind of AMD card is it? Can it run some of today's games? if so, try and hold out and wait for the 980ti.

The Dark is Best Served with EVGA NVIDIA Graphics Cards.
I have a New X79 Dark MB and two New EVGA GTX 980 Hybrid Cards running great.
My Older X79 Dark with 3 Titans are still going strong as well.
But also they both have the newer i7-4xxxX CPU installed.
Best CPU for Single or 2-Way SLI is the Intel i7-4820K on the X79 Dark Motherboard with the 2.13 Bios.

I would say 6core 4930k is the best CPU for X79 platforms. 4 cores might as well go Z97

I would say yes if you are using 3 GPU's at the cost. I have all 6 or 8 cores CPU's myself and my last build with two GPUs the i7-4820K at 46GHz on only AIO Coolers works better then I would have thought. I to will only go with 6 or 8 Core CPU for the most part but the cost is $200 to $300 More so that was why to I went with the i7-4820K.

I did not have the extra $290.oo to spare for the i7-4930K CPU. I got the i7-4820K for $299.oo and the i7-4930K was $590.oo at the time.

    I disagree,
Todays API's and game engines are utilizing up to 12 physical cores and more. i prefer clean FPS by way of Gsync. SLI is dead tech to me so I prefer a single solid GPU/CPU

changed my loop config up a bit.

The Noctis rig has a push/pull rad setup at the roof above the motherboard. Very very tight. The Noctis isn't designed for ATX-E but it still fits. just a little tight in some areas.

I like em a lot! I'd have to paint them though. I won't even let MB LED's lights break a color scheme. Nor the green sides of PCB's. those get sharpied
