Installed new bios, now SLI doesn't work! Using latest driver before and after... Great... seems like I need to reflash to previous or new Win7...

All seemed to go well for me... I had never flashed a BIOS or cleared my CMOS before, so it was a little scary.

I have a question though:

During the initial start-up screens, there seems to be one new one. It says "Detecting drives; none found" or something like that... and then it shows my CD Drive "CDRWSamsung...etc" in green... and then it just continues. The whole new screen process lasts about 1-2 seconds.

Is this "normal", if not any idea what's going on?

Yes is normal, it is basically detecting your IDE drivers like DVD ROM driver. In my case it is Lite-On in green then it continues or hit any key to skip it real fast. It is your JMicron. The other drivers are off my RAID0.

Have we given up on the S3 resume issue? I have a rev 1.1 board and I'm using S1&S3 resume, and I have my BLCK overclocked and vcore increased. The system resumes fine but locks up after a minute or so.

Is there any sort of solution to this or is the only remedy not to OC (which really isn't an option)? Any hope of improvements?

Even not overclocking is not necessarily a remedy to the S3 sleep issue.
I have tested extensively on my 758 rev 1.1 board and have the problem at both stock clocks and at my overclock settings.
