There has been a few threads on this subject, this exact prob. Search this forum only for "RevoDrive X2".

Try turning off noise suppression and acoustic echo cancellation is turned off in your mic settings if you're using the on board audio. They've been known to cause random freezes.

Not here to troubleshoot your prob, just clarifying a technical detail. I have 4 cores, and the only options in BIOS is 1, 2, and all. So you shouldn't have a 6 option in BIOS, that is normal.

Try using USB method. It's a lot better. It might be an issue with your CD/DVD drive being old.

I'm burning with Win 7's own program and my dvd drive is a plextor PX-800A.

What do you mean by hitting enter, is there some kind of a trick?

I've tried the USB method, followed instructions to the letter but with no effect. :(

With such high-end broads, EVGA could have atleast developed an utility tool like on the Asus mobos it would make things so much easier! :)

And all this time I thought ASUS catered to the tech savvy.
It's nice to know that EVGA still does!

Thats great Tech Savy,
So all other people buy a Corvette from ASUS because it comes with 600HP and you would instead buy a Corvette from EVGA with 300HP because they think your tech Savy and will make it 600HP yourself for the same money .. Great thinking

It that your CD boot drive?  IIRC, that's an IDE drive.  This will sound bizarre, but there have been reports that the problem you describe is avoided by booting from a SATA optical drive.

In a way I did try that tip.
When I tried to update my bios with 77, I had an "old" PS2 Compaq keyboard and now I have a razer blackwidow which is USB.

Yes, it's my CD boot and only drive.
Hmm.. to try with a SATA drive Iwould either have to buy a new one or hijack one from my brother's PC. lol

When it's possible, have a bios that fixes a lot of problems that still afflict this motherboard?

- The menu Ram, presents the parameter tREF that does not change the value when changed
- BCLK and ratio, change automatically when I set the profile XMP on menù RAM
- When I set, 200x20, not by a proper parameter, but 199.7 x 200. Another example (201x20 = 200.5x20) Why? It's possible solve?
- With processor 980X, the temperature on bios is not correct

Please fix...

Re:EVGA X58 Motherboards - BIOS 82 Released 2011/06/22 17:00:59 (permalink)
Has anyone tested modding the 82 bios with the newer intel raid rom?

I know there is newer versions since the 82 release and now that they got the size issue worked out I'm wondering if we can mod it to have the new raid rom while leaving everything else alone...
