Ladies and Gents (ooh that's nice and polite for me) Yes we have been waiting on this update for a long time now an auld sayin "Rome wasn't built in a day" i think that the Tech's are working on a full stable release and other things that have been asked for before, to get ahead of themselfs for the 80 BIOS (if that come's out) to see what they can do with 79 and to make plans and start debuging future problems that the 79 BIOS will bring
This is only my opion (opion's are like arse holes everybody has one, not everybody likes to hear it)

I have an E760 and when I updated to this release my vcore went from 1.28v to 1.29v.

Is that still OK?

Exactly... It only takes about 3 months. So it's our fault that we are getting impatient. Right....
...isn't this the second time you are posting something similar as above? Maybe you're on the EVGA pay-roll? Would explain the pro-EVGA postings.

Anyways, I don't mind waiting, especially after almost 3 months (from first post about Intel RAID ROM), but I do get a little bit annoyed when I read posting's like the one you have made.

But I get it, we are the impatient ones, demanding an updated bios right away... Maybe we should wait another 2-3 months, so they have the time to test it a bit more perhaps?

EVGA used to be a great company (I've been a customer since early 2005). But after 2017 it went completely downhill. EVGA doesn't treat customers as customers, but as complete idiots! I used to own over 30 EVGA products (videocards, motherboards, PSU's and so on). Not anymore. #evga #pathetic

would rather wait it out and get one that works than a rushed effort thats been made to too quick to keep people happy.  The more you rush on a job there's a higher chance of quality issuses being not up to scratch, stuff missing or it just dosen't do what it's ment to do

Oh...you are old... like really old... But I appreciate the fact you still have interest in overclocking and fiddling with the systems.

I got this tweet from Jacob after asking about the bios:

Me:
@EVGA_JacobF Hi Jacob, I know you guys are busy but how long till the X58 bios beta? Thank you.

Jacob:
@luigi408 Maybe next week, I will be in Taiwan and can provide a good update then.

I'm glad they are taking their time to fix bugs, and also I'm sure EVGA has been busy with their latest graphics card and stuff. Can't wait till next week for more info.

Re:EVGA X58 Motherboards - BIOS 78 Released 2011/03/26 05:38:57 (permalink)
Yes, I also prefer the new bios Evga do well with tests.
But this is long, far too long I found for the high-end hardware.

I wonder if Evga have done with a new bios rom 10.5, if someone had asked for 3 months?
While she should have done this long ago, it took all the world demands a new bios Evga Forum, and the problems bios update is not now known, and many other brands of buy motherboards , for not old bios with a modern machine.

Starting in 2 times, and the HDD or SSD, which are recognized at startup bug are not acceptable from EVGA for a modern machine.
I await the new rom bios with 10.5, but if problems and bugs are not correct, I sell my 4-WAY SLI, and for me this is over with EVGA, I did not pay very much for EVGA and x58 have a computer bug like 10 years ago.

Now I am very pleased with the efforts made to get the EVGA new bios and I thank them, but only the result counts, and I still believe in EVGA, but you have now stopped the blah-blah (we are the best in the record the world) and get results.
World Records with -50 degrees will serve nothing, if in the normal functioning of all days, the startup fails each time, and that new properties are not set in bios.

For all the world I think, one account stability and smooth operation without bugs 2000s.
Perhaps Evga should rethink the strategy and thought a normal user, the championship did not matter if the machine is not ok 100% every day.
Evga urge the new bios, I do not want to buy yet another motherboard, the 4-way SLI is good, but you just fix the bugs and bios.

EVGA Tech Question: 101
Once the new EVGA Intel version bios release is final and available for download will I have to reformat Windows again after flashing the bios? From prior posts it would appear that is the case. Can anyone confirm for record? Thank you in advance!

That shouldn't be necessary, just be sure to have the latest Intel RST driver installed to ensure max compatibility with the new RAID ROM and hopefully AHCI is updated as well. You will then have trim support if your using a single SSD, as well as a nice performance increase for all SSD users running in RAID or a single drive.

Re:EVGA X58 Motherboards - BIOS 78 Released 2011/03/26 20:15:21 (permalink)
[carried over by request from the X58 FTW3 thread]

http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=883545&mpage=1

Something to be aware of here is that resume from sleep issues can be caused by Windows and/or hardware. This isn't just a single issue attributed to Windows 7 SP1 updating in ALL cases.
I own the X58 760 Classified and been having issues with resume from sleep since the BIOS versions started to hit the versions enumerated in the 70's. Interestingly enough, 77 was kosher, even with SP1. I just upgraded to 78 last night and now the problem isn't just intermittent like I had experienced back at BIOS 74 (if I remember the version correctly) but it's hard and fast now each and every time. When the mobo goes through initial POST routines and your Power LED mysteriously comes on and then goes off just seconds after hitting the mouse, keyboard or power button - that's indicative of a BIOS/mobo POST initialization problem and has nothing to do with Windows - be it the base kernel or a SP.

eVGA needs to get this sorted because BIOS 78 with the Intel Rapid Storage firmware update has the problem in it - and like I said - it's hard & fast repeatable. I've been on the phone with eVGA multiple times and all the presented remedies don't work; MS patch, resetting ACPI, new power supply and different video card.

My rig is 980x, GTX 580 SC, 6 GB of DDR3 1600 and Win 7 Ultimate x64.

The sequence of events is as follows:
System either goes to sleep on it's own timer or it's forced - either way.
System is instructed to wake up via any mode.
System turns on & fans spin up, the power LED illuminates, my burner's LED starts to flash & the system HDD LED light illuminates and then within about 3 - 4 seconds the Power LED goes off, HDD LED goes off but the system stays energized and the monitor stays black.
LED status display shows 01h.

Like I've stated, BIOS 77 was stable, 78 is broke - in repeatable fashion - which is probably a good thing at this juncture...

Zzzzzz........

Thanks, I was going to ask for that link.

I d/l the driver from this link and when I tried to run it I get, this computer does not meet the minumum requirements for installing the software (****, over ).I have not updated my bios for a while now as it was running fine, but plan to use this one. Also I was looking into the vertex 3 and ocz revo drive as my next upgrade so in your guys opinon which is better.
