Read most of topic, maybe missed it.  Any of these BIOS'es support 990X?  77 on EVGA Support does not.

Actually 77 does, clearing CMOS again fixed it.

+1

Still no new bios with everything updated to the latest version. No status update, no nothing. This is getting annoying. Someone from EVGA staff could at least have the decency to keep us updated. But I am guessing that's to much to ask.

EVGA used to be a great company (I've been a customer since early 2005). But after 2017 it went completely downhill. EVGA doesn't treat customers as customers, but as complete idiots! I used to own over 30 EVGA products (videocards, motherboards, PSU's and so on). Not anymore. #evga #pathetic

We all might have to face the fact that they can't alter the bios to accomodate the changes.

No problem with that, but EVGA should tell us that, instead of leaving us in the dark. If I know EVGA isn't capable of updating the bios with the latest ROM's, than I will be looking at a different brand for my next 2 rigs. And I think other people will do the same...

I paid 405 Euro for my E762 and I expect to get the best for the amount I paid and I am not asking for stuff like SATA-3 or USB3.0, but just the latest ROM's, especially the Intel RAID ROM.

It's not like I am asking the impossible.

I'm not to defend evga but, since they don't say anything, it's possible to assume, that  the situation hasn't changed since the last update: "they are working on it, they have some progress, but met another some kind of trouble, contacting Intel". So that's where they are now I guess, and they don't post because there is nothing new to post. Which means there still hope for a nice rom update
imho

Far be it for me to defend eVGA, given the issues I have with them, but I agree; eVGA saying anything other than the new BIOS is ready or it cannot be accomplished will simply fuel the fires of speculation, unrest and dissent.

No, RAID ROM only helps with drives in raid. Try reinstalling the CPU and the cooler, make sure not to apply too much pressure.

Hello, I just registered... hi

I come from a Gigabyte board, and using my drive in IDE (SATA II), I notice very degraded performance with the SLI3 currently with BIOS 77.

Reading and writing is very slow...

I noticed dejanh made a BIOS mod and was wondering if it was worth it in my case... my board would be the E767.

I normally would be waiting for a newer BIOS, but seeing EVGA themselves having issues makes me a bit doubtful...

Thank you

Well I am getting frustrated enough to be looking at defecting eVGA at this point. The Gigabyte board was probably the better one for this particular matter.

Anyway... I don't want to sound too negative, the drive performance is really the only thing that worries me...

For my little workstation, it would really benefit me...

Compatibility, and speed. The old o-rom are known to have issues with large RAID arrays and have performance and compatibility issues with some SSDs.

maybe they can look into the issue where peoples cpu's are getting overvolted to insane numbers like 1.52 volts , when set to "auto" or when set to manual at 1.28750v.

I would think this would be the first thing they would want to fix since it puts peoples $300+ cpu's at risk of degrading/failing....and most not even realizing why it happened.

if your talking about vdroop that was on default settings on i believe which should keep the volts "below" what has been set

the bottom line, it is what it is, and it needs fixed or evga should be replacing these boards with new ones that don't do it.

So far x58sli's(my board) and P55 sli's(another members board) have been reported of doing this, i dunno i feel like im paying people to bug test boards...i mean i can understand they gotta keep up with the technology and make new boards all the time and mistakes happen...but when they do they need to own up to it and take care of there customers, not send out refurbs that end up with the same problems and more after a few weeks.

And another week passes and still no new bios. Sigh.
I think I will oder a Gigabyte board by the end of the week, if there is still no updated information, let alone a new bios.

They are pulling it now, until it's really EOL.

It is way too early to expect any news... Give them two more years and they will come up with something... hmmm I expect something like "It is Intel's fault - Intel is not compatible with EVGA. EVGA is top of the class. However, we are looking at it", or something even more brilliant.
The problem is that looking at it won't solve the problem, start working please.

It's funny to get a call from an EVGA employee stating RAID ROM 10 was in the works, and engineers are working "hard" to make it happen. But then see no updates here.. Between this weak sauce BIOS and terrible firmware updates to the board, easiest decision I've made in my life.
