Hey up ladies and Gents, right after my raid0 has failed twice since December is it worth me using dejanh's modded BIOS to help stop these random SSD fail's

So I've decided to order a competitors board which has AMI Bios to replace my classified for testing. The lack of response and support from eVGA is stunning. I have to say I am a bit disappointed. I will see how the other board does before switching completely...
I agree...Evga should clean up their act, however I feel that sometimes the Devil you know is better than the Devil you don't... at least with Evga you get a community filled with knowledgeable helpful people who are willing to help, and their tech support is still some of the best, I guess they're just going through a recent rough patch.

I don't know about that...X58 is still very much an active platform and for many moving to SB is not an option. I don't think we've seen the last of updates for any of the X58 boards.

I looked over at MSI. Their latest X58 board (about same age as the E770) is still getting a new beta bios almost every other week.... The BIOS seems to be EFI. eVGA has been amazingly passive though.

This same issue happened with my Razer Lycosa keyboard, had to unplug and plug back in to get it to work again - was quite random. MvdL79
I forgot to mention another (small, but annoying) problem.
Every now and then when I boot to Windows 7, I noticed the mouse (Steelseries Ikari Laser Mouse) doesn't work. The only solution is pull out the USB and stick it back in. While it's not a big problem, it's still annoying. And like stated it doesn't happen everytime. Only once in a while, like 1/5 or 1/6.
I really don't know why this is happening, I use this mouse for several machines (HTPC, Gaming PC and Work PC) and only the EVGA E762 seems to have this problem. I doubt it's the mouse itself...
Like stated no biggy, more small annoyance. I forgot to post about this, since it doesn't happen a lot, but yesterday it did, so therefor I am posting.

I think I have made my decision. I have waited long enough now.
It has been over a month now, since the last bios update (not to mention the time between the first post about adding the latest or newest possible RAID ROM). And I am sick and tired of waiting.
Waiting on EVGA to finally update the bios with the latest Intel RAID ROM, is like waiting to win the main prize in the loterry. It's simply just not going to happen.
It "sickens" me that other brands get bios updates out on regular case. Some of them even are already on EFI (not my personal taste, since it has limited overclocking abilities, or at least that's what I experienced), but still, they release updates, fixes and improvements on a regular basis.
I really thought EVGA was the brand to pick when it came to motherboard, but it seems I made the wrong decision, just like I did with Abit and DFI. I will be adding EVGA to this list as well.
EVGA used to be a great company (I've been a customer since early 2005). But after 2017 it went completely downhill. EVGA doesn't treat customers as customers, but as complete idiots! I used to own over 30 EVGA products (videocards, motherboards, PSU's and so on). Not anymore. #evga #pathetic

Indeed. These boards have roughly another year to go at least as "top dogs". X68 will probably not roll around any earlier than November, possibly as late as January 2012.

Read most of topic, maybe missed it. Any of these BIOS'es support 990X? 77 on EVGA Support does not.
