You guys should cut Jacob some slack hes only one person.  Also someone posted about jacob tweeting about rig... so what how many people do you know that take there work home with them? None, hes a person and has to do things to relax like the rest of us.  Least hes making an effort.  Go to any other forum for any company and post a problem bet you don't get a company member to respond to you.  Call their tech support gauranteed its based in some 3rd world country.  Sorry but the Evga bashing has to stop at some point.  I myself am a bit POed at the lack of new ROMs etc but jacob said they are working on it so i assume its being worked on.  You guys should trying dealing with Creatives tech support or RMA department youll have a new appreciation for EVGA.  Sorry ive had a rough day between my wife being sick, overloading myself with college work, financial issues, I am a bit grumpy.

I agree, he is just one person...so where the heck are all the rest of EVGA's staff and why aren't they making an effort? The complaints of the community have nothing to do with Jacob. Jacbo is great

We're all ticked off at the lack of support and updates from EVGA as a company. Not Jacob.

Unless you're gonna tell me that Jacob is running a one man show here and he IS EVGA...

Wizard of OZ scenario.... Jacob yells in a loud voice "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain" lol.

I agree that Jacob should have more help in dealing with this issue so hopefully EVGA is putting a team on it instead of one person.

I hope he understands this. This is nothing personal. And EVGA tech support is still great and helpful. It's the EVGA development / intelligence center that's been a bit slow. But since they are working together with Award on a solution then guess they are not totally slack and we should expect everything to be fixed at some point.

EDIT: OOPS! haha..I got GIGABYTE Mixed up with MSI. MSI Sucks. I dont think GIGABYTE was around that long.

My first Gigabyte board was a 486 board with an Intel DX33.  They've been around for a long time.

Nice! Yeah never heard of them making motherboards back when so they must not of supported overclocking back then.

Sure they did. Like most 486 boards, you had to change the crystal oscillator, usually from 33MHz to 40MHz resulting in a WHOPPING 7MHz overclock!
But Hey! That 7MHz was a 21.2% OC, not too shabby, eh?

I forgot to mention another (small, but annoying) problem.

Every now and then when I boot to Windows 7, I noticed the mouse (Steelseries Ikari Laser Mouse) doesn't work. The only solution is pull out the USB and stick it back in. While it's not a big problem, it's still annoying. And like stated it doesn't happen everytime. Only once in a while, like 1/5 or 1/6.

I really don't know why this is happening, I use this mouse for several machines (HTPC, Gaming PC and Work PC) and only the EVGA E762 seems to have this problem. I doubt it's the mouse itself...

Like stated no biggy, more small annoyance. I forgot to post about this, since it doesn't happen a lot, but yesterday it did, so therefor I am posting.

EVGA used to be a great company (I've been a customer since early 2005). But after 2017 it went completely downhill. EVGA doesn't treat customers as customers, but as complete idiots! I used to own over 30 EVGA products (videocards, motherboards, PSU's and so on). Not anymore. #evga #pathetic

It has to do with voltage your CPU is running. I had same problem where my Logitech G5 and G25 equipment would stop working when i boot to Windows 7.

Can someone elaborate on the Vcore not scaling down in idle?  I thought the latest BIOS (was at SZ2R until I jumped to 78 when I upgraded from 920 to 980X) introduced the same thing for me, but now I am not so sure.  With BIOS 78 and my 980X according to AIDA64 my vcore does not ever drop.  But, I have noticed that if I monitor using e-leet that my vcore does drop when idle with SpeedStep enabled.  What program are you using to monitor vcore?  Or, is the vcore issue referenced in this thread referring to an issue that does not affect my configuration?

I'm pretty sure that unless Award decides to redo the BIOS for EVGA we're not going to see much in terms of updates...

Let's hope I am being unduly skeptical and that they will do exactly that!

I also believe they have to completely rewrite the BIOS at this point. By the way, Gigabyte is not the only manufacturer that managed to include updated RAID ROMs in their BIOS. Almost every other motherboard manufacturer has been able to do this, some later than others, of course. Gigabyte BIOSes have always been easily editable with CBROM. If EVGA comes out with an updated BIOS, we wouldn't have to rely on them providing newer ROMs after that. It's basically a one-time thing for them. After that, we can mod our own BIOSes again.

I still think EVGA should change their company's slogans:

- Intelligent Innovations
- Compromise is for losers

Cause,

a) there is nothing intelligent about using old and outdated ROM's, while other company's do have this ability.

b) EVGA is compromising by using old stuff. And we, as in the buyers and users of EVGA products, are the losers, cause EVGA is currently compromising.

Any other manufactures that are also on Award BIOS?

Also we are still working on this directly with Award, we managed to make some progress, but hit another roadblock so we are now in talks with Intel RAID team.

Thanks for the update!
Glad you have some connections, this should surely help you resolve all the issues and get everything up-to-date.
What kind of roadblock is that? I am not expecting an ETA, but perhaps some technical details? I hope it's not related to the size of the BIOS chip...
