Guys, Speaking of raid with 4 hard drives, I have 4 300gb raptors in raid-5 and I benched them and I got to say the write performance was down right horrible. This is a data drive as I have a OCZ Vertex as my boot drive. Read speeds aren't bad b/n 300-350 mb/sec as the write speeds is like 20mb/sec (not exact but still slow). So would new raid bios help with that or should I just go raid 0 ??

It's hard to say whether a RAID ROM would help in your situation. You might want to ask that question in a new topic and state how you're measuring the write speeds, including the size of the files used when writing.

MvdL79 Topboy007 lradunovic Trust me. I use my rig beyond anything most people will do. Audio/Video Encoding/Decoding, Programming .NET, Virtual Machines with SQL Server installed along with Virtual Machine running Ubuntu on it and of course let's not forget gaming. I didn't say with no reason that eVga boards are one of the most stable and reliable products I used so far. Intel SSD Raid 0 or Raid 1 or Raid 5, or any type of HDD with any type of Raid setup should have zero problems cause i tested it and it works perfect here. And which onboard controller are you using your SSDs on? This "expert" here is using the JMicron controller. :P Right so lradunovic is using the 4-way SLI and is not being impacted by the SATA 3 issues generated by the marvell controller then ;) How easy it is to imply "im an expert" and say "I use my rig beyond anything most people will do" lradunovic Trust me. This quote cracks me up - Just because it works for you does not mean there should be ZERO problems for everyone else. Anyway lets get back on track and try and get a REAL answer from EVGA about when the updated FIXED bios will be released !!!

Can X58 boards run the 10.x RAID ROM? I remember reading that X58 can't run the 9.x RAID ROM because it was designed primarily for P66/67 chipset? I thought the highest RAID ROM that can be used by a X58 board is 8.9.xxx Either way I am glad I was able to come to a resolution with my board. I look forward to my Gigabyte G1 Assassin. Also glad others will have a resolution with this issue. Will just have to wait and see what it entails.

QFT! We still need to get other stuff updated and fixed. I'm still glad they were able to find a way to fix the biggest bug on the bios though.
