Hey all, Long time since I've been lurking around here. Been on vacation (Cancun). Anyways, Since I updated the bios I'm having problems OC'ng this beast. I cannot go above 150Mhz. There's no need to be an ass about it. Some people just like to be reassured.

Unless there's a feature/function from the BIOS update that you need, no - there's no need to update it.
At the same time, some BIOS versions may overclock better than others. If you have the time to kill, it may not hurt to update and try it out.

Im having issues overclocking as well, first I was going to blame the Corsair GT's but sometimes I find my settings stick but the actual results are lower than what i set it at. I had a 170 bclk and passed stressed easily, next day system won't post. Im going to try a previous Bios.

Speaking of which, I tried downloading the 76 bios for the e762 and all downloads (iso, exe, bin) point to 77 bios. I got to download it by opening in new page and manually changing 77 to 76 so its all good :)

I think they have more to do with the boot block, no need really for it to ever be updated.

But I'm already using  the /wb switch which force boot block to be updated, maybe it needs more special command.

Is there a list of known bugs for each bios version? I know the changelog for the 759 is close, but it's not really what I was looking for. I read through this whole post, and it looks like the only major issues are the S3 and double pump with virtualization on. Is the S3 issue that you can't actually do S3 even if you have it set?

S3 works for me on both 74 and 77.

I also have to turn HPET off, else my G15 loses its lcd display when I wake it up using the keyboard. No problems when using the mouse.

Same here we are still waiting. It's been a long time now.

Evga seems to be lagging in Bios updates since the original motherboard team or who ever use to make them were fired or let go a while back. I hope the update comes to 759 at the same time as all other boards.

As you can see in my signature, S3 doesn't work on 758. It fails to resume on third attempt.
It kinda (quirks: after 5th resume, the temps (actual temps, not the readings) are unusually high) works with Auto vcore, but then you can not really overclock much.

EVGA X58 SLI Rev 1.1
i7 920 D0 LinX/Prime Stable 4.4(21x210) HT ON
1.3125vcore, +100mV, vDIMM 1.625v, Rest Auto
OCZ Gold 6GB 1680 (2:8) 9 9 9 24 1T
Prolimatech Megahalems (Push/Pull)
Because of S3 issues: 21x196, Auto vcore, 2:8, 8-8-8-24-1T 12GB.
