Any news on VT and S3 issues, folks? I would have thought there would be a hotfix or something to quickly fix the issues but 1 week later, we are still lacking info on these two issues.

I think we may be waiting until the next BIOS release.

Which chip is more stable with this bios version? 965 co or 975 do?I want to flash bios before my 980x arrives and want the most stable chip in place as I may have to use my pc a few days until I get the 980.

I would go with 975 as it is a D0 right? 965 a C0?

I dunno what everyone's deal is? Since the stock bios that shipped with my board was updated I've had nothing but issues and a hard time accomplishing a steady and stable OC. I personally think this is the best most stable bios yet. No BSOD's and complete stability. Maybe I'm just lucky?

I'm still running an "oldie" on my board also. Only time I will update is when and if I get a 980.

I know. I just drop vdimm down to where cpuz shows 1.65-1.66. Works fine.

So there are no issues when running memory at 2:8 though right?  I want to update, but don't want any hassles.  I have no plans to get a 32nm chip until maybe fall if/when the i7 970 comes out.

By that do you mean:

or

"ICH VCore"

??

If you asking about the Westmere-EP's , You'll have to wait for Shamino to answer that one. I know they were working on it. But unsure of the results

The best release I guess for E759 Classified. My mobo boots at 230/235 BCLK, never pass 220 before. Enhanced boot time, stability, and more. Excelent BIOS release, thanks to EVGA Team.

As a E759 owner, I'd install this BIOS version in a heartbeat - but no VT makes me stick with 44 for now.

Sooooo I loaded the new 49 BIOS and I cant get my chip to even OC to the stable 4.0 template I had let alone the 4.4 template I had...Whats up with these BIOS? They are not allowing me to do anything with an OC...

I keep getting the 124 vcore BSOD telling me to increase vcore...should I have a higher/lower vcore than last time? Am I missing something?

I would not bother with 44 and 49.  They are both buggy.  S22D is so far the most stable release.  This release needs a fix soon.  Hell, even the version number of the BIOS is wrong...released here as 49 but at POST it shows 50.

ridiculous..

Chalk up one more person who cant work today because i flashed to fix the 5915915 usb problems this board has had and troubled me.
Now i cant load up my virtual machines...

And its been over a week now and no fix?

Back to Asus I go, never had such a headache with a motherboard than this company, and i've had hundreds

I knew when i installed it the quality was inferior, and wow the design, support and all that as well is just as bad..

Go ahread, Don't bother fixing it, your no longer on my customer list.. i alread got an Asus supercomputer board, just the reason to finally end my EVGA miseries..

later suckers

mellowgeek

Just installed this update this morning and now windows 7 (x64) won't recognize that VT is enabled. Shows up in the BIOS as being enabled, but when I start Virtual PC, it isn't letting me run anything. Anyone else experiencing this?

Same problem
Just installed windows 7 and flashed to 49, when i went to set up my VT windows gave me the "Hardware Assisted Virtualization is not enabled in the bios" message.  Went into the bios and saw it was enabled, so i disabled it, then ran the windows cpu check program.  It came back and said everything was fine.  went back to bios and enabled virtualization and ran the cpu check again and it said that the bios was stopping hardware virtualization. I think something is backwards in this version.   I just flashed back to E758SZ2Z and everything worked fine.

Just flashed and loaded settings manually in BIOS that I had previously on v44. No problems with booting up, although I note the VReg is running hotter (about 5°C hotter on idle.. have not tried load yet). Also noticed on boot that the BIOS called this version SZ50, not 49 as one might expect...

tried the 49 bios this morning, i feel very fortunate to be back on the 44 bios safe and sound...flash went well, i had loaded defaults before flash,
boot up into bios and try to load profile, no go, F6 errors...
reboot with cmos reset, FF error, oh noooooooo
cmos again, reboot, goes into W7 on stock settings, whew...
reboot to add profile config, F6 errors again

reflash to 44 and all is good again, my 762 mobo does not like this bios at all
