Hi all,
Having the following problem on my build:
EVGA x58 3 way sli Motherboard
Intel i7 920
Corsair 750W Power Supply
nvidia gtx video card
Corsair 6GB 1600Mhz ram
Seagate 7200rpm hard drive
Generic Keyboard and mouse
This is not a new build and has been working flawlessly for more than a year. The PROBLEM arose two days ago while playing bf3. The system crashed and had to be rebooted and this is where the problem occured. On restart the system does not display any video at all. During boot the system does a long beep followed by two short beeps as the onboard post code reaches 2B (initialise video), the system continues to boot and then stalls indefinely at 7F (check POST error and display them and ask for user intervention). Pressing Delete and waiting about 10 seconds changes the post code to 3F (reserved), then locks up again. Pressing either delete or F1 from there has no impact.
The following has already been tried:
Switched ram chips to different sockets.
- Removed 2 ram chips with only 1 remaining in slot 1 as recommended by EVGA
- Exchanged video card with known good card
- Changed monitor and monitor cables.
- Reseated CPU
- Checked all connections
- Reset CMOS numerous times, both on the board and in the back of the machine.
What else can i try? Is it possible to flash the bios or do a windows repair in this state (no video display at all)? If so how will it be done? Thanks in advance for all the help anyone can give.
