We'll have to see if this version fixes the crashing on auto-startup in Win10 with a 400-series card. Strangely, with a 900-series card in the same system, PX loads fine at startup.

Edit: Nope. Still crashes with a 400-series card on startup. Loads the monitoring window, then closes. Loads fine when started manually from the desktop or start menu.

BF4 was working. It worked once for me.
I closed the initial game and reopened only to be missing the OSD.
Closed the game for a second time, reopened, OSD is back but my OC isn't being applied.
Close the game for a third time and reopen, crashes with DX Error.
I can't open the game now. Not even after a restart. DX Error every time.

I had the same exact problem, DX crash with two different drivers. What seemed to be a fix was a reinstall of drivers, then a registry cleaning, re-booted and now working in BF4

It is not possible. This "new" version 5.3.3, still has the BUG of 5.3.2, which is that if you start with the system, at every reboot there is a delay of about 15 seconds, carrying the load of the SSD 100%. Tried with the old 4.2.1, and it does not happen. Solutions?

Now I try to play for a while. But still remains the problem of too much lag at startup with windows.

I get the lag at startup too.

Often I'll boot into Windows and proceed to double click the precision icon only to have nothing happen.
I'll double click again, wait 20 seconds, nothing.
Double click again, wait 20 seconds, and then it finally opens.

    This is funny.
Every time a new precision is released there's so much buzz in the forums.
I get excited that it might actually work.
And every time there's some issue.
This time around it's the DX error for me...

I've probably installed 4.2.1 10 times by now.

You need only to double click the Icon One Time and allow it to make the needed changes to you system.
Yes their is a Delay in startup but it is due the changes the EVGA PrecisionX 16 is making to your computer.

... BUG: Setting "FONT SIZE KEYBOARD LCD" to "Small Font", still erroneously shows the Medium-sized font, on my Logitech keyboard's LCD.

You had said on 1/29/2015, during v5.2.9, that "LCD small font will be fixed in next release."
That was now 2.5 months ago, and 3 versions have passed.
Is the solution not working, internally??

Oh, and OSD is still erroneously interfering with processes, even when it is turned off!

Here is a tedious workaround to prevent the issue:
    - Click "OSD" to temporarily turn it on
    - Find the new "Server" icon in your system tray, and double click it to open it
    - Use the "Add" button, to add all of your game's executables to this "OSD Exclusion list"
    - Click OK to close the "Server" window
    - Click "OSD" to turn it back off again
    - Exit Precision X, and then re-open it
    - Test to see if your game/application works now without OSD making it misbehave

Basically, for my main games (Hearthstone and iRacing), I have to add them to this "OSD Exclusion list" for them to work properly, even when OSD is off. It's a royal pain of a bug, but so far, the tedious workaround prevents the issue from happening.

EVGA: Please please please fix this. When OSD is off, it should not be interfering with processes!

JacobKlein, at this point I would give up on the Font Size Keyboard LCD. Logitech is moving away from LCD screens anyway on their keyboards and instead making holders for your cell phone. I tried the new G910 spark and it is amazing. Unfortunately for me though, I can't use a keyboard that is not ergonomic and had to return it. It seems from above they have a lot more pressing problems to get worked out that impact more people.

    Re: EVGA PrecisionX 16 5.3.3 Released 2015/04/11 22:53:23 (permalink)
Sorry, txfeinbergs, but I am committed towards making Precision X work as designed. They are the ones that have the keyboard LCD option available and broken; thus, they still support it, and it's still a bug for them to fix. And I get the pleasure of starting at that bug every day, as I game.

Also, I understand there are big problems for EVGA to work on, to get Precision X to work bug-free. In fact, I have a list of 6 more bugs lined up, after this one gets fixed. But my point is that they supposedly had a fix 10 weeks ago, we users have yet to see it, and we've been toyed with (taunted) with promises to include it in releases. It's very frustrating, but I will not give up.

PS: I don't think Logitech has given up on LCDs. I recently wanted to replace my aging G15, and sure enough, there was a G510s model available for me, as 1 of their 5 main models. Even their Logitech Gaming Software, fully supports customizing all aspects of the LCD. I don't think they're moving away from LCD; instead, they're branching to additionally support phones.

Do you guys have the problem where the stupid tool keeps asking to update every time even though you tell it to only check once a month? I usually stay one release behind until I let you brave souls mess with it - but every time I boot up it ****es about 5.3.3 being available.

    ABANDON PRECISIONX.

Use MSI Afterburner - their software actually works. I have, and it's great to not worry about it crashing my games. Drop by here every so often to check on updates and to laugh at the fact that the EVGA team STILL doesn't fix bugs that have been reported, again and again, for months.

MSI afterburner gave me problems that disappeared when I use EVGA precision X. The load on the CPU was high and my G-sync screen had intermittent vertical of sync. Be careful on your comments.

I was getting an issue in BF4 with the last couple of versions of Precision X (including this one) by which if I turn on the OSD or OC in the slightest, the screen resolution increases 4 times and only the top left quadrant of the screen is visible on the monitor.  Anyone else get this problem?  The only other reason I'd use Precision X is for the custom fan profile but it really doesn't add to the performance.  As a result, I uninstalled Precision X.  I would like to use it, but I can't get it to work any longer.

Guys let these versions. I have found that among a lot of bugs 5.3.3, I discovered that the frame rate that makes me see in OSD, is completely wrong! I returned to shore 4.2.1 + tuner, virtually the best solution of all. I highly recommend! zero problems. For those who do not simply come, recommend installing with the two software, also HWinfo64m for a total reading of all sensors in your PC. I hope I was helpful.

This version worked fine on Geforce driver 347.88 but on 350.12 it malfunctions and i am sure it is the 350.12 driver that is causing the problem and i posted that error on the 340.12 thread in the 700 series section.

I get no core clock cor does the indicators showing boost clock work where it goes up and down according to the GPU's usage.

I have since gone back to Geforce 347.88 driver.

I have had that problem before. I just uninstalled precision X and re-installed it. worked fine then (except no OSD, as all the others).
