The OSD is freezing VLC and MPC in their tracks. If I disable the OSD in Precision X both media players work fine. I just thought I'd give a heads up in case anyone else is experiencing the same problem. Edit: Ok, I think I may have found my problem...I downloaded a game called Zeno Clash the day before I installed my GTX 970. I was with AMD then and it came with a duel core optimizer that launches at the start of my PC(I don't even have a duel core). When I deleted my old drivers it stayed. I have since disabled it and PrecisionX seems to be working properly. This is why sometimes it is better to go with a clean install unfortunately. Thanks and sorry.

I have been through 4 windows installs in a week due to this (both 7 Ultimate 64 and 8.1 Pro 64).

I use WMC for live TV using a PS3 PlayTV tuner, everything is fine until I install PrecisionX and then I have to re-install windows again. It took me a while to figure it out as it only gives an nvidia DLL as the cause when any of my video players crash (and they all do).

Seen quite a few people having crashes for a while now posting on the nvidia forums.

Since I uninstalled the duel core optimizer the game and media player crashes have stopped...but the Logitech Setpoint software halts in its tracks periodically. It's not a big deal but I have to restart it or I can't use the custom mouse settings in the Logitech program. This only happens if PrecisionX is running.
I love my new GTX 970 though. I ran some benchmarks and it scored almost as much as two stock 7970's.

I just updated precision, from a quite a bit older version too(don't remember the number), but now I'm having similar issues with VLC.  Mostly just crashing, and I think specifically often something to do with full screen.  Moving VLC around while it's playing also causes flickering, and now the OSD views it as a game, though I toggle it off(with keybind) when it shows up on VLC.  Edit: I should note that toggling off through keybind still doesn't seem to fix it, and I have yet to test it with OSD completely turned off.

Yeah, the Logitech problem for me was a deal breaker. Every time I closed PrecisionX Logitech crashed. I left it installed but not running and tried afterburner instead. Afterburner and it's OSD has worked fine for the past week. I want to use EVGA's software but am forced by technical problems with it to use another program.

I'm experiencing the same with a GTX970, PrecisionX in version 5.3.2, and VLC or MPC (even with PowerDVD). the 3 applications work fine when i close PrecisionX . i had tried to unstall and reinstall Nvidia drivers (2 versions) same problem. i don't think the previous version of PrecisionX was creating that problem (i don't remember the exact version).

I'm not sure if this will fix it, but open Precision x Server, and then find and add vlc.exe to the list.  I haven't been seeing the OSD on my videos now in VLC, so hopefully this fixes it.  Don't think it's crashed since I've done this.
