Thanks for the release. I'm still shocked that you haven't yet been able to fix the "Keyboard LCD Font Size" so that "Small" actually works, instead of using the same size as "Medium". Is the fix somehow not a trivial fix?!?

It would seem trivial, lets hope it was just over looked this time around and will be fixed in the next update

    I've reported the issue:
("Keyboard LCD Font Size" not working correctly on "Small font" setting)
    ... on:
    EVGA PrecisionX 15 v5.0.0.0
    EVGA PrecisionX 15 v5.0.0.17
    EVGA PrecisionX 16 v5.2.0
    EVGA PrecisionX 16 v5.2.2
    EVGA PrecisionX 16 v5.2.3
    EVGA PrecisionX 16 v5.2.4
    EVGA PrecisionX 16 v5.2.5
    EVGA PrecisionX 16 v5.2.6
    EVGA PrecisionX 16 v5.2.7

It is hard to "hope" when there has been no response from EVGA on this particular issue for the 5 months since it has been happening.

Well, I am going to try 4.2.1 with the Overclocking Bios, as this one dropped nearly 5000 points in 3D Mark 11 when I tried switching over to push the cards.  I won't be able to report back until tomorrow, but it is a charmer with the stock bios at least.

Single GPU (Not great, but way better than with the 4770k)

Dual GPU Again, not extremely impressive, but it is the stock GPU Bios, so not really easy to go further.

Triple GPU.. Stock bios and this thing accels in this category!  Triple GPU scales very well with the 5960x.

    William:
What is the exact process name (in Task Manager) of your browser? If it is not "firefox.exe", then you might try turning OSD (on-screen display) ON (temporarily), then clicking the poorly-named "EVGA PrecisionX 16 Server" icon in the system tray, then using the "Add" button to find your process and add it to the illogical unnamed list (which I believe is an "OSD exclusion" list)... then turn OSD back OFF (assuming you don't ever want to use it), then restart both Precision X and your browser.

EVGA: You could do a much better job at labeling these items. Seriously.

Observed bugs: Instant game crashes, glitchy playback with windows media player videos, stats don't appear on logitech LCD occasionally, and some games (Bf4) reporting double the framerate on the OSD than what is actually being displayed. Counter Strike global offensive crashes/displays blue desktop screen right as map loads. Every game I have played with any version of Precision X 16 has been a nightmare. PX 4.2.1 continues to be the best alternative.

    That fixed it. Thanks

It's waterfox.exe. I got confused because I opened Firefox to test it there and it still did it. I guess once you install Waterfox on top of Firefox it opens Waterfox.exe even if you click on Firefox. EVGA should add waterfox.exe to the defaults. This never happened prior to X16.

I can confirm that precision x is reporting double frame rates in World of Warcraft.  I was surprised to see it displaying numbers other than zero, but then I noticed those numbers were wrong. haha

Even when OSD is Off, it is still interfering with:
    - iRacing (PrintScreen stops working after about 3-5 minutes)
    - Hearthstone (UI stops responding after about 2-3 minutes).

The only workaround continues to be: Enable OSD, Add the executables to the "PrecisionX Server" "OSD Exclusion" list, then turn OSD back off (if you want to).

EVGA: Please fix this. OSD Off should make OSD incapable of interfering with any process!

What a mess... I'm still using version 4.2.1 it's rock solid. Just update RTSS and you're golden (the only conflicts I remember were a minor error with the Roccat Kone Pure mouse driver installer and crashes with Bioshock Infinite, but those were due to RTSS not Precision X).

It is indeed booting at 4x and it is very limiting for overclocking.

I switched back to precision 4.2.1 and scored 1000 points higher in 3D Mark 11 without any changes, and also was able to get a stable benchmark run through Catzilla at +234mhz (1379 total) which couldn't happen in 5.2.7.

They are making improvements, but we all have to realize, 4.2.1 and all other have been out for a long time. 5.0.0 only came out 5 months ago. There are a lot of variables they have to figure out, and I am sure they are trying. This version is at least 50 time better than the original 5.2.0.

If anyone wants to help them tear the code apart and fix things, I am sure they would appreciate any help. Sending errors is reports is helpful.

Interesting how everyone seems to independently arrive at the same conclusion: EVGA Precision v4.2.1 was the best for stability and interface.

Am removing v5.2.6 as it has repeatedly cooked my GPU by neglecting to auto-apply the custom fan curve settings, sending my evga gtx470 above 100c for a good few minutes by the time I set up OSD to realize what was happening. Not happy, at all, and it wasn't a one time problem, but keeps happening. The interface is also horrendously unintuitive and also bugged out beyond all functional use. It also fails to detect my evga 8800 GT Physx card, which it is also frying at high temperatures due to no possibility of adjusting the fan.

Lost confidence in these updates, which may as well be alpha tests at the expense of it's consumers' hardware. If this keeps happening, I will no longer recommend EVGA to my friends, who have already purchased other brands altogether, as great hardware with built-in OC and lifetime warranty can only be as good as the drivers and software that runs it.

First, this is the 5.2.7 thread, so removing 5.2.6 is probably a good idea anyway.

Second, what driver are you running.  There are no current drivers that support the 8800Gt anyway, and since the tech is being based around current models (read the suggested hardware that states: 600, 700, Titan, and 900 series cards recommended) so they probably never took into consideration that the 8800gt would ever be in use.  It has further been shown that physx cards are not actually helpful when you have a strong GPU to start.  You are simply adding unnecessary heat and taking bandwidth away from your primary GPU.

4.2.1 was based when those cards were still supported. It is going to be your best bet no matter what, especially because it is on meant to support that specific hardware.  5.2.7 would probably work fine as well, but if you KNOW you are having fan controller issues with the current generation software, stop using it.

It is hard to make a software that exclusively singles out every single piece of hardware.  At least EVGA is trying, but until it clearly states that your specific hardware is supported, I wouldn't trust it 100% anyway.

EVGA Should concentrate and to check game crashes with EVGA Precisions...
Typical crashes caused by software... Example you are suddenly on desktop no logs on event viewer or example some game not responding any more but than with Afterburner or NVIDIA Inspectors such things not happen.
Special in situation when OSD work on keyboard or monitor no matter. That's not often but could annoy...
Except that I didn't recognize some specific bug or hardware instability caused by EVGA Precision X.
