So until you guys finally decide to release 5.0.1 which is already finished apparently I'm stuck with this (Deleted for Foul Language) version that (Deleted for Foul Language) with steam? Seriously? It's ridiculous that the software which I downloaded off evga.com is forcing steam to stay open and making steam claim that I'm "in evga percision". Why did the software I downloaded from the site include a steam.dll in the first place? I didn't get it from steam. Also what users asked you to take down the software? All taking the software down has done is cause problems. Who cares about the people saying you copied someone else? I just want working software I don't care if you copied someone else or not. The people complaining that you copied someone aren't your customers. The people actually using the gimped version because you won't put the link to the fixed version out are your customers.

With the delay in getting the new version out one has to wonder how true it is that this was developed fully inhouse and nothing was copied? Surely it should not take so long to release an update?

most people i know are just using the msi afterburner because of this, evga should be quick to respond so not to drive too many off

I would rather they take there time to fix it right, than to rush it out .... IMO.

Oh, look at that! I can't close steam yet again even though I launched evga precision before launching steam. Just change the damn text strings that reference other software already and put the non steam version up. Mother of god are you guys this incompetent?

I use 5.0.1 just fine with Steam. For a sure setup, uninstall Precision, restart, uninstall your Nvidia drivers with all components, restart, re-install Nvidia drivers (check clean install), restart, re-install Precision.

MSI afterburner it is, and after that, MSI products also. This has been a big pile of CRAP piled on top of EVGA and the stink will last for a LONG time.

The fact they are having so many problems makes it pretty damn obvious it wasn't copied line for line, or it would be working.

I think its the opposite, they are frantically busy removing everything that was copied, all references etc, and now trying to make it work. If this was 100% their own code, we would have had a new version already.

They were having issues with the new release prior to the accusations being made I believe, although not 100% sure. Whatever the case, I'm not going to stop buying EVGA products over it, that's for sure. :)

Jacob, do you have any idea when the new update will come out? By the way, EVGA cards rock!! I'm using MSI Afterburner right now, but might switch back to the older version of PX.

I have no idea who you are or what you do, but I have done some coding. And I do know that writing programs that are compatible with all the different computers out there is not easy. Sure, this is restricted to Winbloze 64-bit, but how many versions of that are there? And there are two major CPU manufacturers, no telling how many MB companies, chipsets and no telling what else they are having to contend with. Then, you have people like me that don't keep their video drivers up to date. I don't game. I don't even play solitaire. I use my computers to run BOINC (distributed computing). Most of the time the newest drivers slow us down so we don't upgrade them each time they are released. But to ensure compatibility with all those systems takes time. And I appreciate them taking as much time as they need to take so I don't get a crashed system when I install the latest version version of the software. And no, they don't test it on every single computer. Not what I meant. They probably test on a sample that represents a wide enough range that should show most problems. And as said before, just the damage to the business image from the rumor that they might have used someone else's code is enough reason to trash everything and restart from the ground up on it all. Executables, help files, libraries, graphics, you name it. Then they have to translate all of that. And I think I remember something about that being part of the problem that caused all this. Just my $0.02. Your exchange rate may differ.

Thank you for your support,I was just pissed... found the new version and it works, er... enough. I want the ability for custom colors on the OSD (not just white) and the ability to size it differently, like before. All things I am sure they are working on ATM.
