I just installed the 5.3.10 but the issue remained. Uhm, the card is Asus though not EVGA. It all worked fine in Win 7. Anyway, good to know what's causing this.

Simple fix is to not have it auto start and only start it up when needed as I do and have no issue or problems.

"constructive" (I have read all your Post in this Thread and none of them are constructive) I would say the more Threads created the more it would be noticed more so then the Posts in a single Thread. I have the same Delay as you do but I work with it, I start up EVGA Precision X select the Profile I want to use then I Exit EVGA Precision X and then work or play at that time. Anyway Happy Spring Day! mtsilov

EVGATech_JaesonW Hi everyone, I've tested this in house as best I could, and tried at home as well, but I can't replicate it. I've escalated it to our Product Team to look into further.
I know this is a really old post now but I have a way for you to see the delay that EVGA Precision X causes when an application is using the Graphics Card. Start a Task on BOINC GPU Only or start a Folding Task on the GPU Only. Have the Client Software Open allow them to run for a few minutes. Once Started then Startup EVGA Precision X and you will then see the delay that is cause by EVGA Precision X. I have seen this issues in the last 6 Versions of EVGA Precision X. For the most part I see it when the Graphics Card is under a very heavy load and you are trying to work in EVGA Precision X. My Current workaround for this is to start EVGA Precision X and Select the Profile and Exit EVGA Precision X.

First time EVGA customer and was pulling out my hair out, trying to figure out why all of a sudden I was lagging at startup. Pretty disappointing that a company with a great reputation for products and service, has a utility software that causes this kind of problem. Wonder if it has to do with me having logitech wireless keyboard and mouse, so some sort of conflict at startup, until it is resolved. Update Apr/2016: As far as I know, I haven't done anything to Precision X, except set a profile and now it is working with no problems on boot-up. Maybe need to have a profile saved and run during start-up? Really have no idea why it started working with no problems. I created a profile about a week ago and have had no problem since. If this is the solution, then that still means this software is buggy, since having a profile or using default, should not be a factor in Windows Start-up lag.

i thought it was just me but I see there are lots of others with the same problem. It takes about 2 minutes for mine to start up and be running after boot.I pretty much can't do anything until after it's running, after it's running everything is fine.I tried MSI afterburner and didn't like it,so came back to Precision X.Since there are no fixes,I guess I'll just have to deal with it the way that it is.

Clean-install + new motherboard (Rampage V Edition 10) and new CPU - 6850k
Same issue still persists. Precision is causing 20 seconds of intense keyboard lag at start up. This is with stock settings, no OC on CPU or GPUs yet.

I've suffered this issue for about 18 months without knowing what was to blame. Now I know: it's PrecisionX. It's really annoying, but apparently not critical enough to even warrant a single response from EVGA. Since I started running PreX manually after startup the delay is completely gone. Seriously, EVGA. Can you not even acknowledge this as an issue? I mean you pimp PreX on Steam and with every card you sell. Surely you understand this kind of bug can't be good for your brand. Windows 10 boots in seconds but then PreX eats all keyboard input for almost a minute?! (on my system the delay can range from 10 seconds to over a minute.. no idea what makes the difference) I'm going to dig deeper into this tomorrow. Maybe someone with more technical ability can determine exactly what PreX is actually doing at startup to cause this. Then maybe we can shame EVGA into fixing it!

I think I have the same problem you guys are having.. the only way I can fix it is by changing the screen res. Just right click on the desktop and select display settings then scroll down and select Advanced Display Properties. Now just select any other screen res and hit apply. When the pop up comes up asking if you forsure want to keep the new res hit the revert button. That way your desktop icons don't get all scattered all over the place. Then everything is back to normal. This is with Win10 Pro 64bit Anniversary edition

EVGATech_JaesonW I attempted to reproduce this on our test bench, but I was unable to with: Windows 7 on an SSD PrecisionX 5.2.3 X79 Dark GTX 760 with ou without an overclock profile I tried having it start with Windows both minimized and not, with and without a profile loaded, and I had no delays at all with startup in any way (launching program, typing, hangs while something loaded, etc.). I would suggest uninstalling PrecisionX, then navigating to Program Files(x86)>EVGA and deleting the PrecisionX file, then reinstalling PrecisionX and see if that helps at all. There may be an old file that's gumming things up. Don't forget to write down any setting you put in PrecisionX, as you will lose them doing this.
Try windows 10 or 8, because I am also having this problem on Windows 10. Is anyone by chance running multi-display power saver? I am running this.

demo23019 Nothing to post for settings fresh install of the EVGA Precision X all i did was tick load at start up. Also fresh install of windows 8.1 from last week with literally 2 3rd party programs that includes Precision loading a start up. And no other monitoring software loading at start up i was just saying I installed and tested MSI AF to see if it happened with that also and it didn't. This software increased boot time by about 30 sec and during this process some things lag including typing. Thinking maybe its looking online for update i set never to check doesn't help
I noticed this issue for at least 2-3 years of using Precision... Its the only software I stand behind for Monitoring and custom Fan-profiles since I only buy from EVGA GPU's. 1. This *lag* was present on Windows *startup* with Precision on my Win7 installation back on my AMD FX-8350 build with precision before 3.x.x - 5.x.x / and current XOC version. 2. I'm on Win10-Pro now with an Intel-build and its literally the same strange *lag-delay* albeit w/ a superior CPU, faster SSD, superior gpu's and possibly superior OS. I've been using SSD's for OS installation for 5+ years and I had a previous AMD Build that choked for at least 15-30 seconds because of Precision startup [typing-lag was the first obvious symptom. While *Typing* [e.g. via run-command or on a blank text-file lags bad, *opening applications* like Chrome or Firefox windows tend to 'open' immediately.] I never created a post on this, and chalked this up to being some oddity with strong applications like Precision taking precedence over sys resources regardless of how plentiful a system has. Now that there's a post on this, I would like to read some official reasons as to why and IF at all, is there a way for us users to tweak and or eliminate this strange delay.

I'm running multi-displays with power-saving on them. I don't think the PWR-save on the monitors have anything to do with startup however... I hope I'm wrong, but I'm doubtful.

Mhm... Well, its not CPU architecture specific or MB specific... I've had 2 different systems [Intel and AMD] and the delay was present on 2 different OS installations for years in my case. At some point, this software received a massive update [during the Win7 days possibly] with improved features and it's been a *startup* hog ever since that I [like many people here and you included] have ignored thinking it was their specific configurations for so-long... I think collectively, all of our stories are informative enough for EVGA techs to hopefully look into this and start testing away...
