SAMCRO-FTW abecker SAMCRO-FTW So EVGA is responsible even though the same thing happens with other manufacturer's boards and ATI cards? Besides I don't know what they're really gaining by charging $20. If an "unpatched" motherboard fries, they have to pay for an RMA and that's even more expensive than $20. Very simple, how many boards have fried? Ive seen maybe 10 on the forums? Ok lets say 100 for the sake of argument. How many boards have sold? Lets say 10,000 to be very very conservative. So there is an issue with 1% of boards being ultra mega conservative on one end and generous on the other. As a business your going to give out free, possibly unnecessary adapters to all 10,00 due to a 1% chance a board runs into a problem? And the cost of that > RMA? EVGA is a company not your best friend, they do everything they can to help their customers which IMO leads back to the old saying 'give an inch and they want a mile'. This is my last post in this thread as I clearly have my view and others have their own, I feel my peace has been spoken and do not wish to argue as it accomplishes nothing for anyone nor I. /2 cents given You know who else only had several confirmed cases of a flaw? Toyota. I'd say give out free ones to whoever fits the below requirements AND requests one: 1) Owns an affected EVGA motherboard that was registered and is under warranty. 2) Owns atleast 2 EVGA graphics cards that are registered and are under warranty. That number won't be 10,000; but it would definitely give alot of people peace of mind.

Rather disappointed. I've got an EVGA E759, serial #149, and I never got any email or notice that these were available until I get home from work today, see the forum post...., only to find that they are all gone already! I hope they get more made. The $20 isn't a problem considering how much more I've got invested in my computer that could be damaged by an overloaded circuit. Please make more of these!

Maybe those of us who have a documented case (I posted my pics of melted socket, EVGA replaced with a refurbished m.b.) with EVGA should be given the "upgrade" for free, since we obviously have the hardware to make it happen at least the once (so far)!! And the fix at the time of incident was a replacement of THE SAME m.b. in question? Just a thought!

Funny...I only saw the promo because I've been watching the site because of my step up. I have two 480 sc+ and then the 580 launhes. Started the stepup a month ago to be number 215 in line! Now a month later I'm only 142 and I haven't moved for 3 days now. Emailed asking about the supply and guess what! No answer! Spend a few grand on evga boards and cards and they can't even hold up their own program. Is the step up window 90 days because it takes another 90 for it to be honored!?!

The following is of personal choice to post and is not the opinion of, or representation of EVGA... Something is being missed in all of this. EVGA built their MOBO's to a standard that all other companies are to follow as well. EVGA did not have a crystal ball to look into the future to see that ATI and Nvdia would choose to go beyond the PCI-E standards "After" the official release and sales of the 759. For EVGA to step up to the plate and design, build and offer a solution that no other company is at this time, is one of the reasons I purchase EVGA items. They take care of their clients. I am bummed out because I missed the free offer. Then I go to buy one and those too are out. Pretty disappointing on a personal want level, but not even close to the end of the world. Not to mention.. If they did sell 10,000 MOBOs this would cost what... $200,000 to get to all of those with the qualifying MOBO(s)... Assuming they still even have it? I say bravo EVGA for getting out a solution.

Comsidering how much I've spent on EVGA products over the past three years, I would have hoped for some kind of notification that these were available. n790i and two EVGA GTX 280's. E758 and two EVGA GTX 295's. E759 and two EVGA GTX 480SC's. And just recently a couple of EVGA GTX 580SC's.

this is what i am seeing and dont like about evga, they bring in the e759, mfg problems are found so they get a new board and label it with a new part number, and sell it, not telling anyone about the problems with there board and so on until we have the finnished product wich is the current classifed 3, i feel like i paid to beta test the e759...so much time wasted.

It would be interesting to know if EVGA intends to notify registered customers with qualifying boards of the potential hazards involved in certain configurations without the use of the Power boost Mod. Since it is a verified issue, all qualifying customers who are contactable should be notified so they may purchase the mod to avoid future problems and loss of hardware.

I think evga management is dropping the ball on this one. I can't think of a better way to show customers that evga goes the extra mile for them, then by offering this to any customer that is worried free of charge (long as the product is registered). It would show how much evga stand behind its products and would add value to owning evga brand. People will remember what a company does when it finds out about a design problem, that could effect what brand they buy in the future. Who's at fault if a customer doesn't pay $20 for this and the mobo cable melts to the mobo and fries the PSU?

I think it's not getting enough voltage from the MOBO (because that is its only source of power). does this thingamajigger mean i can OC my gt240 with stability with the added voltage or am i just SOL? I have to admit, 759 and 760 loyal customers having to pay for something that cost mere pennies to have the Chinese make is kinda sad. I am quite disappointed myself that these customers were not notified about the upcoming release as alot of people have been waiting on this to make GPU purchases, myself included.

So to get this straight, you can afford 3 $250 (470's) watter cooled non the less , a $1,000 processor, a $300 board, and a $300 PSU, and are concerned about a $20 power boost, If you had swapped affiliate codes on the board and 3 470's you would have earned $8 in EVGA bucks, so now we are down to $12. I know EVGA says Free shipping, ( but I don't realy belive UPS does it for Free )

Yeah the availability is the bigger issue in my mind. The changes to the Classified boards were really to remove the NF200 (I think the 759 is just as good as the subsequent Classifieds) chip due to cost and to add USB 3. If I was EVGA while making those changes I would improve other things too. So not EVGAs bad. So is there any ETA on when these will be in stock? I need one for my 759 and 2 x 580s to be safe.

PuffY it isnt about the $20 its the fact that they want to profit from a mfg flaw This in no way should be taken as offense, or an official EVGA opinion, but I pose a question to all who reside on this side of the fence: How was EVGA supposed to anticipate this possible and rare occurrence with these newer, more powerful graphics cards, in advance? Especially if they haven't existed yet, even with Nvidia, when the original line of X58 boards (plus 759/760/762) were manufactured, and widely distributed? EVGA is offering this to everyone, not just those who are possibly affected, as added security for stable flow of +12V. Those who are directly affected by a serious event similar to those documented on the forums should contact EVGA immediately, and they will make it right. Otherwise, this is an investment for added protection for all.

A Manufacturing flaw? No you are wrong. Intel and AMD went out of spec on what they set for standards. Now there cards are drawing more power and the lanes can not hold up to it and pulling to much from the 24 pin connector. On another note in one of your other posts. The E759, a Design Flaw? You apparently don't know **** about that board. There is no design flaw. With any of the boards EVGA makes for that matter. With the E759 they have the NF200 Chip so every PCI-E lane runs at 16x no matter what. The E760 doesn't have that, the E759 was a limited run. If you don't want your 759, you can end that peice of "garbage" to me. I will gladly pay $20 for this adapter. No company saw this coming, but if you look at every new board that comes out, you will notice a Molex or 6pin plug built in to each bored. I bet if you looked at other company's boards that were built back at the beginning of the release of the X58/P55 you won't find it. If you do, it will be on only 1 or 2 boards.
