which one works for the Maximus VII Hero,
the short 2-Way or the Long 2-Way?

EDIT: also, does SLIing a 970 FTW and 970 FTW+ work?

You'll want the long 2 way sli adaptor as it's a 60mm gap between slots.
Also, yes you can sli those cards, the system will just down clock the faster card to run at the same speed as the slower card although there's nothing to stop you using a program like msi afterburner to over clock the slower card up to the speed of the faster card.

Hope that helps

well they are the same, except for a few things if you compare them in NewEgg

Well, just got my bridge, but the light isn't working on my Titan X setup. Same thing happened with the metal one from Nvidia as well. Any ideas?

No. Read the compatibility list for the 970's and sli from EVGA. EVGA initially didn't include lighting control through the 970 and there were other issues with the 970's.. EVGA updated the 970ftw to the ftw+, fixing the sli issue with lighting, but in the process made it incompatible with some of the same family of cards.

One example: http://forums.evga.com/m/tm.aspx?m=2333512&p=1

I just purchased a V2 Long SLI Bridge.  It did not come with the color stickers to change LED light color.  Where do I get this?  See link to see what I'm talking about.

You are too new for links.

We know what you are talking about though, and I don't think evga actually offers them.

Call EVGA and explain that they did not come in the box with the bridge. They will send them to you. There suppose to come in the box.

Thank you so much for this!
Perhaps eVGA should update the article page for Pro SLI bridge V2 and mention that the LED light will work on 980 Ti cards too.

Sadly, my SLI v2 LED light is NOT working for my pair of GeForce GTX 980 Ti cards. I am using GIGABYTE GV-N98TG1 "Windforce" cards. The bridge is functioning fine for SLI purposes, it just doesn't light up. I don't see any options specifically for the bridge in the GeForce experience panel, just for the card's individual lighting dynamics. Is this just a lack of compatibility?

You should contact gigabyte and see what they said. They shouldn't be incompatible, but they may be.

i have a x99 classified, and cards in Slot 1 and Slot 3
i bought the http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=100-2W-0023-LR - 60mm
But when i put it on it is shor from connecting the bottom card.
Do i need to buy the http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=100-3W-0032-LR - 80mm 2/3way SLI? (seems like this would be too long)

Re: EVGA PRO SLI Bridge V2 2015/08/20 17:23:45 (permalink)
Since the led does not light up with my 970's I opened up the bridge and applied 5v volts from a molex connector to the wires for the led and got it to work. My question is what is the voltage for the led coming off the cards that do support the led ? Would anyone be so brave as to check for me?  I tried both 12v and 5v, both worked and I stuck with the lower, just curious as to what is the actual voltage. Thanks

from looking at your board, the one you got should work, did you check your cards  brackets are installed right? try loosing them up and installing the bridge,

edit: or is your second card in slot 4? because slots 1 and 3 should be 60mm apart on the x99 classy

I used flash film to change mine, and I actually wish I could get it more vibrant than it is.

I wish they would pass out an Orange color block.. Or, any of the ones they advertise... That would be nice.

i plan to paint the outer cover on one of them tomorrow / white , and use the red film like i did on the older ones (they were ok but not to bright), i had to do 4 layers to get the right color, but from what i have seen of the new ones with the side lighting the effect should be much better than the back lighting on the old ones, although they also look pretty good:

they are a much deeper red than the pic shows
but the lighting is not , even across the logo

Well played i was testing this thread...I kid, i had forgot i put it in Slot 4 as i have a 5820k and Slot 3 is disabled.

So now i am ordering a 5960X so that i can use slot 3 so i can use the SLI bridge. Do you think that it is worth it to get the chip from http://siliconlottery.com/products/5960x47g

i know little on that board but i think the 4 slot is best (x16) compared to 3 slot (x8) but depends on the cpu on what lanes you have, the 5960 is a bad boy but you may be better with the 5930, depends on what you do .
I would just keep it in slot 4  ( that WOULD require the 100-3W-0032-LR ) 80mm

I finally got the 3 black pieces of plastic with the word EVGA in red, green and blue. They are stickers! If you place them on the outside of the bridge they don't really light up that good. So I don't really know how they are suppose to work.

I finally got the 3 black pieces of plastic with the word EVGA in red, green and blue. They are stickers! If you place them on the outside of the bridge they don't really light up that good. So I don't really know how they are suppose to work.

sounds like they are for cards that do not light up the bridges...maybe????

Re: EVGA PRO SLI Bridge V2 2015/08/22 02:43:10 (permalink)
I think you wrong. EVGA says there suppose to be included with the SLI PRO Bridge V2. So you can change the color of the lite up EVGA part of the bridge to Red, Blue or Green.

Plus think about it. Why would they send these different color stickers to put on the bridge if you cannot see the color!!
