I already have an EVGA SLI bridge that looks rather cool between my two EVGA Superclocked GTX 980s. I run them to my 4K 60Hz G-Sync Acer.
Now, what actual differences would I see moving to this new bridge.

Yes, SSC and FTW+ are compatible with the LED.
Aw, so no go with the SC ACX 2.0? Crap, I wanted to pick that bridge up, but I'm running an SC (04G-P4-2974-KR) + SSC (04G-P4-3975-KR). Dangit!

Almost every EVGA card already has EVGA lights from ever which way you look at it so we really need bridge branding also? And just like other bridge these don't match the ACX theme at all. Also the light clashes with reference green lights. Just make a clean looking bridge.

Then why mention the color of the light clashing with the reference green, lol. That makes no sense, as the ACX has blue.

None of the EVGA GTX 970s have lights which is also the most likely card to be SLIed right now as it is an amazing price/performance. Also, only the reference coolers have green lights, most others have white.

For those wondering about "performance gains," there are none. I posted a year ago about my situation regarding using the original PRO SLI bridges at 1440p and 120 Hz. I had flickering/crashing in SLI in some games, and it was due to the SLI bridge. EVGA listened to me, tested, and found the flaw revising the bridge to accommodate more bandwidth (pixel clock). The same is probably true here... just another increase. So if you're not having problems gaming with your current bridge, which you shouldn't be if it's not an old version, you won't see any difference - but you may fare better in the future whenever refresh rates or resolutions increase.

I wonder if there's enough room in this bridge to add my own LED (saw a great mod on older EVGA bridge). Just bought 2 EVGA GTX 970's SC but it looks like they won't support the LED :( Just makes no sense.

Scouts honor. :-) you can grab a tape measure, if you have one, and measure slot to slot. It is the same spacing as the SLI finger. The red slots are 40mm apart, for sure, so adding one in between would be 60.
If it is a metal tape measure, just put a piece of tape over the tape measure and don't push it into anything. Lol, I say it because some people will jam the hold tab into the slot... Don't do that. ;-)

No, I was wrong. There is a PCI 1x slot in between, so you should get the 3 way bridge for your set up. I thought you said rive and missed that it was the black edition, so my apologies for that. The 2 way long is only 60mm, so it would only extend to the PCI 1x slot after slot 2. The 3 way is 80 mm, so it will hit slot 1 and 3 on this board, (traditionally slot 4 on most boards, so that was why I was confused) and the Middle set of fingers will sit between the cards. I am really glad you posted the picture. This is what I am used to seeing:  I use a 3 way bridge for a 2 card setup between slot 1 and 3 for your board. (1 and 4 on mine)

No 80mm is not 69 mm no matter where you math is done, lol. Do you have your motherboard? If so, your motherboard has SLI bridges with it, the cards do not come with an SLI bridge. You don't have to have the cards if you have the motherboard. Use the bridge and set it on the PCI lane and you can see where it will line up.

Haha ye I know, but the inlet ports are a bit lower than the SLI bridge but yeah I know lol =D Yeah I have one that came with the board somewhere =) The board is in the rig atm with alot of acrylic tubing in the way so it's hard to get a proper read but I'll try tomorrow =) I'll have to see if I can find a longer SLI fitting,if not I'll have to get extenders on the sli fitting =P
