midknite This is probably obvious to everyone else/I'm just stupid etc but is there going to be a 3-way bridge?
I think it's not possible because you need both slots on the GPU for high bandwidth but you can still use the old bridge for a 3/4 way with low bandwidth and not supported by NVidia and most likely not in future from the ground up games.

I did actually look around (sorry been outta the PC modding game for awhile now) and yeah nvidia is no longer supporting 3/4-way sli going forward. However, I'm still curious because this is the only bridge that has color changing which is what a lot of people have been looking for consdering how long we've been waiting for a slick looking SLI bridge. Do these not work with pre 1000 series cards?

I don't know about the lights, I hope it does but even with both sides of the data connected it should. I have used two sli bridge across two GPUs before and had no issues, I had some old evga hard bridges and I wanted to fill in the other slot to remove the void.

Not a 3-way high Bandwidth Bridge, afaik. You're aware that nvidia is trying to discourage 3 and 4 way sli in favor of higher performance 2-way?

Can I temporarily use my EVGA sli bridge I already have for my 980 Ti's? How much performance hit will I take if so.

It depends on your resolution. At 1080p you won't notice any performance hit as far as I know. Some of the lighted SLI bridges give the same transfer rate.

I have the lighted one and I am typically running 3440x1440 but sometimes play in 4k and 2560x1440 as well. Primarily the Ultrawide though.

well it should work temporarily just some slightly reduced performance in certain resolutions until you get the HB bridge.

When I bought my EVGA SLI LED Bridge last year EVGA advertised this bridge as a high bandwidth bridge, better for 4K resolutions and fast cards.
How faster is the new High Bandwidth SLI bridge?
Is there some difference between the new High Bandwidth Bridge and the old LED Bridge from EVGA?

the 4 slot ones seems to always be in stock, I guess only a few motherboards support that set-up, the ones with 4-way SLI support like my X99 classified, so that's why it's the only one always in stock. as for what bridge to use for Asus x99 Deluxe with slots 1 and 3 (if you're not counting the PCIe x4 as one of them) you'll need a 1 space bridge basically just count the number of empty expansion slot brackets between cards, if the cards are right next to each other with no space between them, 0 slot, if one space/bracket then you need a 1 slot spacing bridge, and so forth. granted this is assuming you have the standard thickness GPUs, and not a triple slot one that some companies make.

You need a 1 slot spacing (60mm) from EVGA or 3 slot (60mm) from the NVidia HB Bridge

It's most likely because the bridge is running at the same speed as the hb bridge. Tom Petersen @ nvidia said the older LED sli bridges are capable of running at the same speeds of the new hb bridge.
