You should be able to use the led visualizer software to fully disable the led.

These bridge are huge.
From the aesthetic stand point, will there me a re-design?

TPU present NVIDIA GTX1080 SLI ...

https://www.techpowerup.c...ce_GTX_1080_SLI/1.html

70fps on 4K in Crysis 3, 77 fps in Far Cry Primal, 95 in GTA 5...
That mean GTX1080 SLI should be option for gamers who bought 4K monitors and want to play in native resolution.
One thing is very important, fps is almost double compare to single GTX1080 and looks like NVIDIA really
optimized better SLI in games with this generation and because of that they limited GTX1080 on SLI configuration.

This bridge can help frame pacing especially at higher resolutions + refresh rate and/or surround on GTX 10 series:

So, that chart with frametimes improving a couple percent is all these bridges have to show as far as performance improvement?

They should have got rid of the flashiness and included them for free with the cards. I'll wait until someone can show me why i actually need to spend more money on this.

Since not everyone does SLI, there's no compelling reason to include them for free. If you are going the SLI route, you buy HB bridges for micro stutter reduction due to the combined increased bandwidth. Especially if you do surround or 5k gaming. Otherwise, keep your existing bridge.

Re: EVGA PRO SLI BRIDGE HB 2016/06/22 11:39:40 (permalink)
They could easily correct their marketing approach by clearly stating that the only people who need this are 5k or extreme surround users. I've seen them be very sneaky about who and what this is actually useful for, while seeming to be more than glad to sell it to everyone who is confused. Tom very much tried to appeal to 980ti SLI users at 4K resolutions that this would be neccessary for that purpose with 10 series, and the 980ti had been gimped into microstutter because the old bridges could not be used at all.

The fact that the only metric we have to show improved performance is an extreme case surround setup means a lot to me. They would have shown a straight 4K comparison if they wanted to be forthcoming with users.

Well, since the GTX970 was originally released in September 2014, I would hope that a brand new just released GTX1080 would perform a lot better ;-)

"the 1080 outperforms two 980's in SLI." I would hope if it outperforms the 980 sli it would outperform the 970's in SLI.

confused on the spacing here I hope I ordered the right one I have a sound card sitting in between my gtx 1080's 2x so I think pci ex slot 1 and pci ex slot 3 is where my cards are sitting the 2 slot bridge  is the one I would purchase right and do the older evga pro sli v2 bridges run at the same speed as these new HB bridges ?

You would order the 0 slot. If you look at the sizing chart you see that two double width cards sit in slots 1 and 3 with 0 slots between them since card one takes up slots 1 and 2 and card 2 takes up 3 and 4.

This not correct. He said he has a card installed between the 2 video cards.
Just go by the back IO panels between the video cards. If there is 1 io panel between the cards you need a size 1, if there are 2, then you need a size 2, and so on.  Each IO panel is 20mm wide.

Hi there. First time posting so thanks in advance. I am in Canada and have 2 evga ftw 1080 gtx coming soon. I am using an asus z170 deluxe motherboard. I am just wondering if anyone can tell me which bridge I would need? It kinda looks like 4 slot in the pictures but I don't wanna order the wrong one. Thanks again for any help.
