Good read Halloweenweed, I was just watching my voltages in Eleet with cpu vcore at 1.23v and cpu vtt at 1.239 these are stock boot up voltages by the bios which seems to fluctuate to different voltages on boot up. while watching these voltages at these numbers I could see the 12+v rail jump from 12.4v to 12.11v. As soon as I changed the voltages in Eleet to cpu vcore to 1.20v and cpu vtt to 1.23 the 12v rail showed a stable 12.11 v
Do you think the cpu voltages have any thing to do with power draw as well on PSU and PCI-e slots ?

I would think the CPU gets most of it's current through the 4-8 pin CPU aux pwr plugs (12V), they must power the CPU Vreg directly, that's why they are near the Vreg heatsink. But if they are on the same rail as your 24-pin (often they are), the CPU draw will greatly affect your exact voltage at the 24-pin as well. This has the effect of keeping the 24-pin voltage on the low side, possibly deferring any meltdown. That's why I suspect the meltdowns develop primarily during periods of heavy GPU use and low CPU utilization (with multi-rail PSUs), such as when running Kombuster (Xtreme burning mode).

I have just ordered 762 4 way MB from TigerDirect. Do I understand correctly, that because 762 has two additional power connectors, one next to CPU and another next to PCI-E lanes, I don't need power boost?

I installed one on my 758 in 1x slot. The board is running two 580s and a 295 via an AX1200. I was able to just fit in the wire and connector underneath the cards.

Got my powerboost installed on my E758 this evening.  I am only running 1 GTX580 for now, however my 12v used to read 12.18v, now it reads 12.26v.  Is 12.26v safe to run 24/7 or should I uninstall the powerboost and wait until I get a second GTX580 to saturate more PCIe lanes?
 
 My PSU is a Silverstone ST1500

Installed mine. 12v rail consistent now with no movement in voltage down during SLI gaming. Thanks EVGA for the fix. I can rest assured now my system is safe. On another note. Intel has made peace with nvidia now. Will this open up chipsets for future motherboards? :P

Just wondering, but has anyone run into any strange buzzing or crackling issues while having the Powerboost installed, as well as a PCI-E Soundcard? I just finished the installation just a short while ago and now I'm starting to hear this slight crackling sound coming from my speakers.
 
I might try removing it later to see if that fixes the issue, but until then, I was just looking to see if anyone ran into a similar experience.
 
EDIT: Nevermind. It turns out that I accidentally bumped the analogue connector (found on the Auzentech Forte and HD cards) when I was disconnecting things, and that was what caused the slight buzzing.

So I had a pretty alarming problem with my power boost today.
 
I have a E758 3xSLI mobo with 77 bios.  1 GTX580, 6x2GB 1600mz@1723mhz, and 970 OC'd to 4.1ghz.  I installed the power boost in the 1xPCIe slot: (see pic)
 

 
I installed the GTX580 into the first 16xPCIe slot on the board, and the system booted up without any problems.  I used the system for a few hours, and even rebooted a few times and turned the system off for the night and went to work today.
 
Tonight after work I went to power on my system and got an immediate shutdown, fans + lights for a second and then shutdown, and the more I tried turning it on the less time it would stay on.  So, I ended up pulling all the ram, and testing 1 by 1, I even tried switching the video card to a backup ATI video card I have on had - still had the same problem.. this was all after resetting the BIOS(several times).. the same problem every time.  I'd pull the power plug / reseat / power on, and immediate shutdown.
 
So I pulled the powerboost out of the board and was able to boot without a problem.  I then tried both video cards and still had no problem booting.  I put the powerboost back in the 1xPCIe slot, and the problem returned.  I then moved the power boost to the last 8xPCIe slot (at the bottom of the board) and I was able to boot the system as usually without problem.
 
So I pretty much have determined that the powerboost I received will not allow my system to boot while in the 1xPCIe slot (EVGA E758 mobo).  I called EVGA tech support to report the issue and they are going to investigate, but have yet to hear of this problem.  So if anyone else is using the powerboost with an E758 board for more than a week, please post your configuration and results.  Im curious to see if it is just my board, powerboost or some how my configuration.

12.26v is just fine. You are allowed 12.60. Look at the link and go to page 19 for the Voltage Tolerances.

Got power boost in a few days ago. Installed in a 758 in the 1x slot. Running a GTX 580 and GTX 295. 12v was moving around from 11.84 - 11.94 while folding. With it installed I'm at 12.04 - 12.12 while folding. GPU overclock's seem to be much more stable also.

I was getting the odd "NVIDIA display driver stopped responding" error once in a while. Since installing this, it hasn't happened at all. Coincidence?
