Project of the month July 2014.

In June, I was elected the Cruncher of the month... Sigh
The team decided to let the Cruncher of the month to pick a Project of the month. The month was July.
The Project I picked was Skynet POGS.
POGS offer nice WU's that fit most. On fastest CPU's they go at prox 2hrs, and up to 4 hrs on slow ones.
1:50 on a 4960X and 4:00 on an old Pentium. I got the range lol
No need for HT off here, and they run pritty cool, so OC at Your likings.

Also, POGS hand out the coolest trophy's around, so I expect a huge trophy shower on us the Next days.
If you haven't signed up yet, here are the details:
When already signed in, u can just follow this link:
[link=https://www.theskynet.org/challenges/38?invite_code=a86045&locale=en]https://www.theskynet.org...e=a86045&locale=en[/link]
Alternatively use this code if prompted:
a86045
You will see your proud name among the other challengers right away.

In the Challengers list, you will see two unknown names:
CR62, and Joe'Joe90'Dempsey.
Those are two awsome crunchers I met at the ongoing pogs Challenge. Nice polite guy's that I wanted to get to know us better.
Joe is the breather on my neck on the ongoing Challenge. Also, he has signed up to this forum to take a look see(Skippy Joe). Poor him.. He's on no team.... yet He shpild let us take care of him
CR62 is the host of the ongoing Challenge, and a member of SETI.Germany (Never heard of them) He's a great and dedicated cruncher, so we have good Company.

Ok, Project of the month is about to happen. I'm exited to see how this first POTM goes and if we will make another when NeXT Cruncher of the month is elected.
Next time it may be YOU...
I hope to see you all, and even more....
Crunch hard ppl, and let the mighty trophy's of POG's reign upon you

Oh, btw, there is another Challenge going on at pogs in july, a RAC Challenge (Recent Average Credits) Why not sign up on that one too.
The ultimate price is this one, the Voyager1

Looking forward to see you, and good luck

Re: EVGA POTM July 2014 2014/06/30 08:20:03 (permalink)
    Greetings !!
In less than 20 hours, EVGA's first "Project of the Month" will be launched, and I'm honored to be Your host.
For the record, I think one Whole month is a long time, but then again, I look at it as a "If-you-have-nothing-better-to-do" Project.
I don't like to pull ppl away from their personal goals within causes meaning much to you. This is intended to be like.... Please join if you want. The cause is within science, some preferrs Medical, no strings Attached, no hard feelings if not attending.
Oh, btw... Pogs is within both Formula Boinc, and the Vault, and it just so happened.... we grabbed two point in Formula today
Great job to all who have done Pogs lately. Grabbing another two Points should be within range if we pull hard.

For those who intend to participate, time to get ready.
The minute the Challenge is within it's time, credits will begin to Count, so just start. (Feel free to bunker lol)
Also, POGS have another Challenge going together With Ours, a RAC Challenge.
For those who intend to take home this Challenge too, start crunch ASAP, POGS RAC's build slowly up over time, no need to start at Zero.
We have guest's, and I intend to invite more. I hope to get a couple of good crunchers over. Atleast one of them has serious firepower, His name at Our forum is Skippy Joe and he's a great guy.
CR62 is the ongoing June challengs's host, and a great guy too.

If I seem slow on replying during this Challenge, it's because I'm on vacation, AND I have another day rythm than most on this forum. However, I have my cellphone and my lap, so when I get the opportunity, I'll be all over you.

As we have seen, POGS offer the coolest badges, and lit's of them. However, as you rank up, they get more unike and rare.
I'd like you to take home some cool ones to Our Club house.
After the Pentathlon, EVGA was ranked 46 at Skynet, today we are at 38!!!
So thanks again to those who have crunched POGS.

So, good People... Shall we do this POGS thing?
    CRUNCH HARD MY FRIENDS

You must be reading my mind or have a camera hidden in my computer room. I just finished up the WU's from another project and fired up Pogs on the i5 to get a jump start on tomorrow.

I may bring the laptop into Pogs as well. Not sure yet. I really don't want to take it off Simap since the project will be going private at the end of the year and I have a personal goal I want to meet before it does. Yeah yeah, I know that's 5 plus months away. I don't want to risk them going private early on me though. It could happen, eOn shut down with no notice and Docking only gave a months warning ahead of time.

I plan on having something on it all month but things can happen, like heatwaves and strong storms around here in July. I'll need to do folding as well. I'm running Pogs now for CR62 last day of the June challenge. I had to leave it for PrimeGrid and then maintenance.

Thanks for picking a worthy yet easy project to run Orange. Now let's do the Pogs thang and fill up those trophy cases!

It puzzles me that they don't have gpu work. Are they planning on implementing it? Or is it just not the right type of work for this kind of project?

Ha Ha, I saw that too. Thing is, when I sat up the final settings for the Challenge and pushed the submit button, it was 10:05 UTC.
    My time was 10:05 AM.
No need to wait for the time to be right, it's the credit Counter that starts at that time.

Just for giggles I thought I might treat this as a Point Pillaging run and track our progress.

    The Skynet POGS standings:

    Free DC: 27 (22,239,228 points)
Formula Boinc: 5 (21,222,318 points for the year, 10 FB points)
The Vault: 16 (9,513.11 Vault points)

Keep in mind this did not occur to me until most of July 1st had passed by. So, I missed what the standings were at midnight on the 1st.

Great idea, and no worries, Khali!  I imagine close enough is good enough around these parts, at least for me.  I'm currently on vacation with PC off, but hope to be running again soon enough.  The bug is itching!
