Any word on an actual release date on this board?
The ASRock board has been out for a while, and now the Asus one is out, and is very nice!!
Just wondering if anyone has heard anything new on its development. If it isnt something coming out very soon, I fear I may end up settling for the Asus =(

As far as I know EVGA is still in the design phase.

Didn't feel like thread hi-jacking anymore?  I can wait. The longer the wait, the more EVGA bucks I earn and the cheaper stuff gets. Besides, can't really build another rig till I sell the one in the living room first. But when its time, its going to be sweet as I will be building two rigs at the same time.

Yea, i really really want the EVGA board. I love EVGA to death. They have always been good to me and they have great customer service and warranties.
I am currently selling off my current PC thats listed in my sig, and building a new one thats about the same power but more energy efficient and smaller.
I am going with the Mini-ITX Silverstone SG08 for the case and PSU, EVGA 690, using an older samsung blu ray burner I have, and either a 3770K or a 2600K, I already have the 2600K, but I kind of wanted to try out that newer CPU and bump up to some 2400Mhz Gskill ram, depends if i sell my old stuff i suppose. I have all the parts sitting here near my desk minus the mobo. Waiting for the best! But it doesnt seem like its something coming out in a week or 2 unfortunately. Argh!

Sort of like my Quartz rig, except larger. I built Quartz with an ASRock Z68 ITX, 2600k, and for fun, stuffed a GTX560 Ti in for a while.  Then I added an aftermarket heatsink and I had to remove the double slot GPU.       All I need is an extra 10mm and a double slot GPU would fit once again. My trick around this was to use a PCIe ribbon to fit the GPU out side the case.  Did that during the Folding March Maddness month.

Ah very very nice man. Yea thats about what im going for. I got an H60 to put in there though, so ill be removing the top fan and doing a push pull there with that rad for the cpu. Hoping it fits, most people i saw that did it, didnt have issues. Cant wait!

That was kinda on my plan too. I have an extra H80 thats just laying in a box. I was planning on using it to cool the 2600k, but the Zalman CNPS8900 keeps the temps with in range. Maybe once I swap the EVGA Z77 and OC, maybe then I will see the need. But for the most part, its quiet enough that I can sleep peacefully at night, so it folds and crunch 24/7.

JacobF mentioned in another thread that there is no Thunderbolt on their Z77 miniITX board, and I think this is why. Look at the chipset diagram, apparently Thunderbolt would take away 4 lanes from the CPU in order to provide the bandwidth. That would reduce the lanes from graphics options if a thunderbolt connector was present from a full x16 to a single x8, because no one makes an x12 slot.

I'm also in the boat for a new mITX mobo. Not for any general reason, really...the P8H67 I've got currently from Asus is nice, but I'm courting the idea of upgrading to a Z77 board and a 690. Just need to figure out if the Silverstone SG07's PSU is enough to handle the card and other parts.

I'm getting itchey building fingers. I got my hardware all planned out and decided on the i5 3450s. For this next rig, "Mercury", power usage will be key since I will be limited to 150W and I got to add a GPU to the rig too. Compact size, energy effeicent, cool running, and low cost are the key features this time.

I know the ASUS mini-itx thats was pre-orderable a while ago is better, but still have to wait for that to come in stock, and who knows when the EVGA one will come out. But I got a friend that wants this ASRock one if I upgrade to the EVGA when it comes out, so no worries there haha.
I get the mobo in tomorrow, so I will post some pics of the installation and how it all fit, and do some Benches overclocked and let you guys know how it works. The SG07 and SG08 have a 600Watt, so it should be ok, if not, ill just swap it out with a bigger one.

oh you definitely can, they are just PSU turned sideways, its just not somethign you can repace with a full size psu. And you can mod alot of PSU to fit. The insides of a PSU are quite small.

But presumably these are 3.0 lanes, so twice the bandwidth of 2.0 lanes, meaning a 3.0 x8 slot has the same bandwidth as a 2.0 x16 slot. Plus, benchmarks have shown PCIe bandwidth makes little difference at all, as long as you have enough (where 'enough' depends on your graphics card/application, but 3.0 x8 is easily more than enough). Unfortunately, a lot of people just aren't clued in about this stuff and if they see the board has "only" an x8 slot they'll think it's not enough, or worse, not compatible with their card. I suspect that's the real reason for leaving out Thunderbolt. jose1980

They are standard ATX PSUs, just short ones (140mm). Any PSU that short or shorter (e.g., Nexus PSUs) should fit. The only issue might be the cables. It's a bit of a moot point though, since 600W is more than enough for just about anything you could fit in an SG07/08.

The GTX690 is rated on nVidia's website as 300W draw, or 25A from 12v. The total system power between a 2600K and 3770K is 14W at stock full load, since the actual draw of 2600K is 93W, that makes stock draw of 3770K is 79W, or just over 6.5A at 12v . If you didn't overclock anything, and had a single SSD, one CPU fan and one case fan; then you really don't need more than 450W with around 32A from 12v. Even if you overclocked the CPU to 4.8GHz like in the bit-tech review, assuming you had the same FPO Batch, then your CPU will draw 157W, or 13A. So the total 12v amp requirement goes to 38A, or any 500-550W unit. In otherwords, you really don't need much power even with the GTX690, assuming you didn't overclock the graphics card. The +600W figure for "system power" is only there for liability, if something were to go wrong that required an RMA, EVGA can blame you for not following the rules. But a +600W unit would be a good fit if you want to overclock the card as well; no pun intended to whatever chassis you decide on. Remember, drives and fans will have labels that say what power they need, always focus on 12v amp requirements, since that will be the biggest total number that matters because CPU and GPU draw from it. subtec

Customer ignorance doesn't play a part versus the demand of Thunderbolt among those demanding a miniITX form factor, that might not add up. Yea that psu is actually a good psu. It tested 700 watts peak power draw before it shut off and its always 85% efficient and 87% closer to the mid power draw. so I suppose that's more like a silver rating. I have my 2600k at 4.5ghz 1.3v and it pulls 104w full load. The 690 is at +125%\+100mhz\+450mhz which has been getting 1178mhz clock and kill-a-watt has been staying around 430-450w from the wall, which is more like 380w-ish on the psu. So it has enough power, a good 320w away from overload protection limit.

To be honest i'm considering this EVGA mITX board and cutting down my main rig into something smaller. I dont ask for much and I would buy it day one...
Priced around $100-$120
Z77 chipset so I can overclock (could be Z68 or P67 for all I care)
2 full size RAM slots (not SO-DIMM)
PCIex16 slot (doesnt even have to be 3.0)

Here is what must be on this board (imo):
-1x Intel Ethernet NIC
-1x PCIe 16x (3.0 to be perfect)
-One old Creative Xfi chip. Or at least one optical output.
-around 6-8 power phase for CPU, and 2 for DDR.
-No vga connector, maybe a hdmi or a displayport.
-2 full DDR3 slot.
-2 Sata 6Go and 4 sata 3Go, one USB 3.0 header for dual USB 3.0 -front panel, one dual USB 2.0 header
-dual Bios
-Clear CMOS and power-on switch on rear-panel
-Some space between CPU socket and PCie bracket. Maybe the chipset can stay between them. This way massive CPU-cooler can be used.
-One free mini-PCIe/miniSata for Wifi+Blue-tooth or SSD.
-Angle ATX connector or even an adapter to make it angled.
-8pin connector for CPU power, no cheap 4-pin.
-At least 4 fan connector. One or two PWM for CPU-cooler.
It's a lots but it's for good reason.

Well, now that my current build is done, minus the waterblock for the 690, all I can say is wow. It is very very nice to sit at my desk, and have my little SG08B case that fits in the corner under my left monitor, and it have the same processing power, GPU and CPU wise, that my monster HAF 932 had with Tri-SLI 570s. Pricewise, I do not think the Mini-ITX EVGA board will be under $200, it will probably be like $229-$249. The ASRock Z77 that I bought was $150, its a 6+2 phase, and according to the hardware monitor, its only using 5 of the 6 phases at 4.5Ghz. The Asus Z77 Mini-ITX is $200 and I think it has a 8+2 power phase. So a little more juice for the CPU. But the power unit on the mobo really limits your cooling options. I imagine the EVGA one will have more power phases, or at least more power handling, so we will have to see. But in my opinion the ASRock is better than the ASUS due to the power unit it has on it. I was able to get a full watercooling setup in the SG08B with the ASRock, there is no way it would have fit with the ASUS. So lets pray that the EVGA one is a very nciely designed board, not just in power handling.

I'm willing to pay a little more to give the 2600k a board that can let it run freely. I'm not too sure how many power phases are on the ASRock Z68 ITX, but it looks to be 4. I know EVGA is known to use 6 or more, so I'm expecting a board worthy to build on.

So far, it looks good for us ITX folks. Nvidia is finally releasing some low-end GPU's that we can put in a small-form factor case. Thou the specs of the GT610-630 do not impress me, I will wait till the GT640 slim comes out and hopefully it will be a true Kepler GPU.
