Hey guys, just some out loud thinking here. If EVGA had a "Membership Program", what would you like to see as some of the perks? Some examples below: - Upgraded and free shipping on all products shipped from EVGA?
- Exclusive gear or swag?
- Exclusive promotions (like Powerlink, etc)?
- EVGA EAR on any replacement products?
- Improved/increased stepup terms?
Any other thoughts on this?

Could be interesting.....you would need enough incentive. 10% off all EVGA products? Promotional game codes? Movie streaming service like Amazon Prime?

We "pay to play" so to speak. Have different levels of membership. The more you (we) want, the more you (we) pay.

Upgraded and free shipping on all products shipped from EVGA, --- or--- % off on all shipping services to & from EVGA for all EVGA services (up to 60% off for shipping both ways), including (and not limited to) step-up programs, RMA, and purchases at the EVGA store. If this is going to be a "subscription" type program, members should gain a certain amount of evga bucks on a monthly basis.

Upgraded and free shipping on all products shipped from EVGA? The problem with that, evga not competitive on product pricing. We can purchase evga products from Amazon or Newegg for less and receive free or discounted shipping already. New perk idea When a new series of graphic cards are released, evga reserves half the stock they receive (for evga.com store) for anyone that has active evga membership. Members could enter a queue, each member can only purchase 1 new released gpu at a time. (not talking about stock you send out to retailers) Will "EVGA Membership" be available for people outside the US. Half the perks mentioned, people outside the US can't take advantage of.

Ahhhh, yes, point taken on the Amazon idea, especially for those that have Amazon Prime. 2 day free shipping? and reduced prices, yaaaa, that's competive. The only thing that EVGA would have going for them was my second idea, receiving free EVGA bucks on a monthly basis. There is one flaw to your idea though... I can see 90% of the people cancel their memberships until they hear about a new graphics card coming out. Only then will they go back to renew their membership just to take advantage of the fact that EVGA will hold a card for them, assuming that there will be a "subscription" to the program. I'm only being realistic here, it has to be worthwhile for EVGA to do it too. What's in it for EVGA if they have a membership program? Money, active subscriptions.

It would have to be a yearly membership, if you plan on offering exclusive products or free evga optional programs like EVGA Advanced RMA. EVGA Membership $30 a year - New Member reward: Choice between evga t-shirt and lanyard or evga powerlink (new members only)
- 50% off all shipping from evga.com

I like your idea. To use the Newegg Premiere model. Costs $79 per year (last amount I paid). Receive free two to three day shipping. 30 day no question return policy (when applicable-some items are 30 day replacement only). Then you can add your member reward, discount for select accessories. Free EAR for the year membership paid. 30 day extra step up could be a bonus, absolutely. Perhaps you receive X EVGA Bucks. Incentive NOT to cancel and re-up at the end of the year could be X bucks. Just some thoughts. Jacob...this is a terrific idea....hope more people have ideas to add.

Well they are giving them away for free right now, so it's not out of the question. And it's not like the power link actually costs $29.99 to manufacture, they most likely are only a few dollars to make.

How are the terms defined, I'm not talking about a user agreement, I mean: - What conditions define a member?
- How is it different from a customer?
- Do frequent or legacy members get any priorities over new members?
I ask about the latter as they are the first ones to cry foul when someone random that just signed on wins the Scavenger Hunt prizes every year. So in the defense of frequent or long-time forum visitors, random users have to be limited in what they get, unless this program is purely a money grab to help identify your baller customers' needs better since they'll be the ones to sign-on no question or hesitation... In other words, since no one is asking, what is EVGA looking to gain out of this?

You mean the $27 markup on an item that costs around $3 to make in China. You have to keep the membership fee low, if you want to attract enough customers. Look at what you get from Amazon Prime membership. The reason so many people purchase Prime membership, it's due to the high value they receive from it. The $68 dollar question is, can evga offer enough value at a reasonable price.

$3 you say.. and you know this how? Just arbitrarily saying some cost doesn't make it true. Regardless, the cost of making it is irrelevant, I'm talking about opportunity cost - this is how much EVGA loses by not selling it at $29.99 regardless of how much it cost them to make it. Basic economics / cost accounting.

The powerlink is around $3-5 mfg cost. It's made in CHINA, you know the country where labor is dirt cheap for companies to outsource mfg to. Where's your idea for membership perks and cost to where people will see it as a good value.

You're proposing up to hundreds of dollars of discounts and freebies for a $30 subscription? This subscription model works with Amazon Prime because of the sheer volume of orders many individuals make, so the profit margin on multiple items easily covers the cost, plus you get return custom. With EVGA, I imagine most people only buy one or maybe two big items a year tops, unless you're a system builder. For a $30 fee, you proposed: - New Member reward: Choice between evga t-shirt ($7.99 + $7.95 shipping - I just checked on EVGA) and lanyard ($4.99 assume shipped with tshirt) or evga powerlink ($29.99 + $9.99 shipping) (new members only) freebie for joining.
- 50% off all shipping from evga.com (shipping minimum for 1 card would be ~$20 value, so assuming 2 items a year with cheapest - slowest - shipping option possible = $40 minimum)
- 30% off select accessories, gear and swag (depends what is ordered, arbitrary $15, being conservative)
- One Free EAR per year (value $30-$50 depending on plan)
- Extra 30days step-up Window (a big cost to EVGA.. if you sold your card you might get 80% of it's value, so another ~$100 indirectly here)
- Members can join a queue to purchase newest graphic cards on the market (can see scumbags joining for this alone and taking all the stock so they can resell on EBay / Amazon for 50% markup while stopping stock being available to public.. yeah brilliant).
So end result, for $30 you get immediate $20-$40 in freebies, ~$200 conservative in other bonuses, plus it's open to abuse for new stock. Yeah I can see why you think that's a good idea... but not so much for EVGA. If EVGA expanded their product line to maybe modding parts, custom cooling loops parts etc. etc., then this subscription model might be more viable. With FrozenCPU gone it's perhaps not such a bad idea...

EVGA needs to expand products more for this to really work. More cooling stuff! More Game cases! Need some exclusive software and early release of games and or demos. Swag? Swag doesn't make your pc any faster LOL . How about LESS advertisement. Not one of those guys that likes staring at the Glowing EVGA logo 24/7.

Yeah agree about needing a bigger range of products to be really advantageous to both customers and EVGA. After all, EVGA is a business, not a charity. Partnering with another company for custom water loop components, modding parts, even SSDs or cables etc. might help expand the EVGA range and make this subscription model more viable.
