Any information about this at all? Just a small acknowledgement that EVGA is working on it to release it "soon" would be great.

the MSI card (one) came back in stock yesterday. I had it on backorder so they kept the "out of stock" up and shipped that card to me. Will be here wednesday. So excited!!

I bet hydrocopper will be based on Classified PCB and will o/c to at least 2.2Ghz
Anyone know what board will be used?

Even if it is based on the Classified PCB, it will not guarantee a 2.2ghz OC. All water really do is keep it from thermal throttling.

I received this message from jxm1013: I asked this same question to Jacobon Twitter a few days ago and his response was "No ETA at the moment unfortunately. Still in works." I am seriously considering the MSI card which would be the first time I venture away from an EVGA branded product... I would love to have some vague idea of the anticipated release schedule. Any information at this point other than "No ETA" would be nice.

I grabbed the MSI Seahawk EK X and it is pretty much the same thing as a classified hydro copper just from MSI instead of EVGA. Even has the 3 year warranty. I see no reason in waiting around when EVGA is unwilling to provide us with zero information at all. This was also the first time for me buying a card other than an EVGA since the radeon x1300 was relevant.

That MSI card has an 8+6 power.
~That is 2 less then EVGA FTW 8+8.

Maybe EVGA  found that sweet power ratio where card can become "Great" overclocker.
Why else would they be stalling so long?

Because they are obviously having issues with the water block manufacturer this time around. It is obvious since they have not even told us WHO it is. The card is bios voltage locked per nVidia, there is no magic to be had until custom bios is a thing. 8+6 vs 8+8 isn't a big deal unless you are doing ln2 and then you probably have custom power delivery anyways.

Are they possible considering skipping 1080 and go for Titan X Ultimate and 1080 TI with hydro copper? I don't know how they have done with previous boards.

Just got my MSI Seahawk EK yesterday. Although it lacks fittings, it does come with EK EcoTherm TIM which I thought was a nice, but odd touch.

EVGA needs to cut the bs and stop ®SOON nonsense. We want an ETA window and we want it now. JG Wentworth asfuk

MSI EK X is available on NewEgg right now.
One possibility is you are right and EVGA is having issues with manufacturer and not some breakthrough.
Also possible that they will release a superior card to MSI EK X.
Looking at their Front Page:
+Hardware Breaks World Record

Some are saying that card is bios voltage locked -
but how would you explain K|NGP|N hitting 2,594MHz?
Cooled by liquid nitrogen so not something you can sustain in real world.

And I couldn't be happier, because of this....

I just hope some news comes out soon on these. I know MSI has there version but I'm pretty loyal to EVGA. I just can't bother with the hybrid stuff I'm too used to water cooling all the way.

I will be preordering the msi seahawk ek and getting an HTC Vive for new VR room after my paycheck next week.  If EVGA would at least announce something i would like to hold out bc i already have the evga x99 ftw, and i am really considering that DG-8 case.

I actually really like the backplate.

It also has 8pin vs MSI's 6pin power. And LED lighting is a nice touch.

Yes, Zotac is 8+8.

Also, just for reference, these PCB's have quite different dimensions. Arctic Storm is longer and Sea Hawk is taller.

(LXH)

MSI Sea Hawk EK X
277.9mm X 165.1mm

Zotac Arctic Storm
300mm x 148mm

Zotac AMP! Extreme
325.1mm X 150.1

Reference Model
266.7mm X 111.2mm
