The battlefield 4 EVGA servers seem to always be empty. Will we still get time counted on the servers if the matches haven't started?

^ - this.  I was playing BF4 last night but didn't see anyone at all on the server.

Would it be possible to make ONE of the BF4 servers have DLC on it - like 2nd assault as a trial?  I think that if there was a server running DLC that it would get populated much easier.

The game is old, the newer one is out. There is a Brazil server which is usually always populated with a queue. I was on it last night playing with Gumby88.

Not my fault if you're offended.

Agreed! Isnt origin offering free bf4 DLC right now, I think more people would be playing if the newer maps were on the server. I like to play late at night but some nights (for example last night and it was only 11pm) every server is empty.

Anyway I want to win an X99 FTW K so badly, got the money for a cpu or motherboard but not both. Currently running z97 but have 64gb of DDR4 sitting here and a couple big ssd's waiting to be installed.
Good Luck everybody!

I'm not buying it that it's because BF4 is an old game and no one is playing because BF1 is out.  That's why I suggested to just make ONE server DLC and leave the other as-is so people that don't have DLC won't get left out.  It shouldn't be a big deal to try this for a week or 2 and see if it changes the population.  I tried to play again last night around 7PM central time and both US servers were sitting at 0 people again...  I went to my other favorite server (LINK) and it was 64 full with 8 deep in the queue!  Heck even right now around noon its got 20+ people on it!

While I really do appreciate the contests / events it's kind of a moot point when there's no one on the servers.

Ive got 14 hrs. in already you just have to keep checking on all the EVGA servers, unfortunately it seems like the USA servers are always empty. Like I said I think the DLC's are free so it shouldnt alienate anyone to make all the servers include the DLC's.
As a matter of fact thats probably the reason nobodys on em, they are all tired of the stock maps.

I'm pretty surprised at the lack of turn out on the US servers as well.  I somewhat understand it being a ghost town outside of events, but to see them this empty so often is pretty bad.

With BF1 coming out and the lack of server rentals it does hurt this event.

I know there is only a few days left in the event, but maybe if we threw out a certain time people would want to join on the US servers so folks aren't waiting for it to fill with bodies first.

Agreed!  I'm usually in the 20-30 ms range on US servers playing at 120ms+ just makes it much less enjoyable.

I really don't understand why they won't even try it...  Does it cost that much extra to have the extra maps on the server?  It's really frustrating all the talk about how empty the servers are and most suggestions seem to go right in the circular file.  At least the rules got an adjustment recently so there's a start in the right direction.

We've tried many different BF4 configurations over the years since launch. Only the plain vanilla servers ever get much use. In most cases, the others got no use at all (even when users insisted they would get used) and people complained about having DLC maps, so the choice of having just vanilla servers was obvious. Even when we had two vanilla servers, one would be full with a queue and the other would be empty.

For this event, it seems BF1 is getting the lion's-share of attention, so even the vanilla servers are a bit slow.

Actually, only one of the US servers is true "vanilla". The LA server does have the originally free DLC maps.
How about this: We'll add all the DLC maps to the LA Conquest server later tonight and see what happens. Can't hurt to try it again. :)

Does this mean those of you asking for DLC will be getting your friends together and playing on/seeding the server? ;)

I've been discussing with the admins about getting a game night together before the event ends.

Who's up for some BF4 Thursday and Friday night? We're all planning on being on for a couple hours and we should try to get some users into Discord voice chat or TeamSpeak.

Biz - thank you for at least explaining what has been tried before and also for turning on the DLC to try again.  I've not been around long enough to know the history of having tried DLC maps before but I see all these other servers full so it seemed like a logical reason to me.

That said - I do plan on being on the BF4 servers Thurs/Fri and look forward to trying to seed the LA server.  I don't have any friends to bring with but I'll be there!

Some action on the LA server tonight!
Hey whats it mean when you get a weapon's dog tag, does that mean you have earned all the battlepacks for that weapon?

The weapons dogtag means you've mastered the weapon. 500 kills but some still have more battlepacks after that. You can check on that in the stats tanb
