get em while theyre hot people.

how are these still in stock lol, people made such a fuss about the 80+ before and were shedding tears and tears on the forums about how they needed the 80+ cards or their lives were useless.

Hint, people are coming to realizations that some people didn't lie to them.

Or, alternate scenario, "EVGA IS DOWN FOR MAINTENANCE".. lol!

The majority of people will understand that the 80%+ cards are useless. And I'm guessing some people are selling them already because they thought the 80%+ cards were better than the other asic cards. 72% on air or 74% on air water is the way to go for the average joe. The price after that is just not worth it. Unless your serious about Sub Zero

Actually the 80 asic cards tend to get the highest clocks on air and memory will usually have more headroom. Memory OC can go 8.5ghz+ on these.
The highest scores achieved on air cooling in my lab were all done with 79-85% asic cards :). The only card to have full stability at 1620mhz in Firestrike at DEFAULT voltage was the 85%
Haven't seen anything like that with lower asics.
Right now ALL KP980Ti are at 72%+. so there really wont be HUGE difference in clocks between the cards on air. Below 68% are usually that struggle at 1500mhz and not superstars on Ln2.

wow thats nuts dude. my last card is 82.1% and it could do 1550/9100 on air, memory on it is absolutely insane. that was at 1.7v on mem.

whats the highest asic you have seen so far ? just curious.

Right on! I don't see much talk about the the memory OC capability on high asic cards, but actually that is huge potential of the high asic is the memory can go sky high. On Ln2, especially on other manufacturer's cards with HYNIX memory, if the asic is below 70%, the memory will lose HUNDREDS of mhz when you go cold. We call these lemons :). They can lose up to 700-800mhz when u make the pcb cold! High asic gpus however with samsung memory that can take voltage, rarely do this. You can still run 4.1-4.2 on Ln2.
That's  kp980Ti :).
Wanna know something funny? I heard from a credible source here in TW that MSI is gonna release their lightning card with HYNIX memory for retail, and give a few extreme overclockers samples with samsung memory so they can compete for records. How lame is that if they do it! LOL

I saw the list of the cards in the last batch. There were a ton of 80+ actually, I was surprised. One was 89.5% or something like that! I would of loved to test it on air to see if it beats that 85%, but they already shipped to US.

Not surprised if MSI really do this. But still interested to see the layout of Lightning.

I'm surprised and never considered do that with any of the three kp cards. Always want to give you guys the BEST card possible period. Promoting/overclocking something different than what you can buy is not what I want to do here with this card, in fact the opposite. Gotta wait for official spec before its fact, just hearsay until then. We'll see..

Thanks for the insight man. So do you still recommend the 80%+ on air considering the price point. I think a lot of people get confused with what to get for their needs. It also seems a few people are disappointed with the results they are getting. To me it is what it is! I have heard mostly good things across the board. But the majority of the cards that people seem to be happy with are around the 74% to 79%

Best I could do so far with my two (75.1% & 75%) in SLI was 1531MHz/2053MHz, stock voltage on air.

When I have some time to figure out how to flash k|ngp|n's bios on W10, then I will see what these bad boys can really do.

No kidding man! I might of stolen that one if I could of gotten my hands on it ;).
Hey your totally right there is a price point value for everyone right?
What is the highest asic cards value?
Well here it is for say 77% and up, but like I said before 72% is already relatively "high" the cut off is there for a reason on these asic buys. We see great performance and scaling potential from there and up.
1. Highest Air core clock with least voltage (this is the only factor that ALSO relies on current/leakage so still need little luck here, but on avg they still clock pretty high on air)
2. Highest air memory clock with excellent vdimm voltage scaling (8.8-9ghz on some)
3. Highest Ln2 core clock with least amount of voltage (this means great scaling cold with higher possible top end)
4. Highest Ln2 memory clock with good voltage scaling and least likely to be lemon on cold

Pretty sure I've tested more maxwell gpus and their scaling behavior in overclocking through whole temperature range in the past year than anyone ;)
There are exceptions of course due to leakage,  but that's about how it goes.

That's because most of the comments are not based on results and more on how to use this card properly, or even how to obtain them from various countries. Vince and a few others have already posted their results here!

You'll have to do what another user on here did. I spoke to him and I ordered the kingpin for him. He sent me the money along with an added bonus so I don't have to lose money on paypal fees + money for shipping. I got the 74% ASIC card for $900, he sent me $980 or something like that so that way I cleared $950, that gave me $40ish to ship. If it costs $35, then I made $5 for doing it. I just wasn't aware how much shipping across the country was going to be. The kingpin came in today so I'll be shipping it out to him tomorrow (Wednesday).
