I have GTX 670 FTW Signature 2 card and the most I can overclock it is by 50Mhz. I've tried everything (maxing voltage, maxing power target etc.), but that is the most I can get out of the card. I've seen people offsetting GPU clock by 150Mhz easily. The whole reason I paid extra for signature 2 edition was because it was supposed to have better cooling and better overclocks. So, my question is, will updating to new BIOS help regarding this matter? Thanks.

Some of the "initial" cards benefited from this,it would be safe to say any cards purchased after this update would already have any bios update applied at evga. Altering Bio's without consent and being advised to do so by EVGA directly and them providing the Bio's technically voids warranty .Altho you may find a bio's elsewhere but be advised to save the original bios i n case you need to RMA as your Bios on file for that serial number must match of warranty is void when submitted for RMA or Step up .

wasn't needed, different PCB most likely had better bios (almost same as 680 as same PCB and layout but gpu was clipped)Same as no 680 bios were ever deemed "needing" a bios update, only a few select first run reference 670's did .(ie 670FTW non-reference)

Wow, didn't even know there was a Bios update for my card. I have a 2Gb version of the FTW, and the bios is 80.04.19.00.70 how old is that? More importantly what does the bios update bring? I don't over-clock my card, and i use Afterburner to manually adjust the fan.

again this was for the initial run of cards ,cards made after the post date have newer bios already. If you read the first post you would know this .... Firmware Update v80.04.4B (not SC not FTW just the regular 670 was what this was intended for back on 10/16/12 Q. How can I tell what version I firmware I currently have? A. There are multiple ways to do this, one way is to right click on desktop and go to NVIDIA control panel. Click on Help, then System Information. Scroll to the bottom of the Details window and it will show your "Video BIOS version". It will be listed as EXAMPLE: 80.04.31.00.72. The numbers in bold identify the version number. 5C is well after 4B ....

why would you update 80.04.31.00.70 when 80.04.4B is WAY before (older) then your current Bios?I may be wrong but i believe 4(B) is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY older then 80.04.31 . I suggest you call EVGA and explain what you did and see if they can help.If you do not 100% know what your doing flashing bios you should not be doing it .As i read numbers i cant understand why your doing it anyways .

I found the bios flash for my video card on your forums last night and matched model number to the appropriate download. I ran the update and my card was flashed from the original BIOS that was on it when I got it last summer to this latest BIOS. I verified this via GPUz and Nvidia control panel. I've never had a problem with this card except with occasional crashes to desktop when using any driver other than 306.97. Even the latest 314.07 that's on Nvidia now caused a driver not responding in Planetside 2 last week with the original BIOS. So, I flashed it last night and started using 310.70. However, for the first time ever, and while just surfing the web with IE, the screen just went dark but the monitor stayed on/awake. The computer was still running and hadn't rebooted. I waited several minutes and nothing. I reset the PC and it booted back to windows. I used system restore to revert to driver 306.97 but think I made a mistake flashing it. Anyone have any similar experiences or ideas? Can someone point me to the old BIOS so I can flash it back to that? Would that help me? Should I use a different driver? My original BIOS was 80.04.19.00.70 P2004-0005. My video card is 02G-P4-2678-KR and was obtained in June 2012.
