Seriously, why is it so hard to find the 1080 FTW without it being so overpriced.

Evga 1060 and 1060SC are inexisting here in France let alone 1060SSC and 1060FTW.
I mean it's not like day 1 after release it's 1 month later. All the other brands have no issue with availability so this is only an Evga issue.

As many have said we all love Evga and we are/try to be loyal customers but it can't continue like this .

First time poster and very... very long time customer.  I just wanted to chime in and say that today is the day I'm switching to another brand for the 1080 series.  It isn't because I dislike EVGA, rather, its because I'm absolutely sick and tired of the garbage availability of your products.  After SO MANY YEARS in business one would think that the company would have learned by now on how to meet supply with demand. Instead, they'll lose customers to other brands like ASUS with comparable product quality and reputation.

I am sorry EVGA I waited as long as I could to try and get a pair of 1080 Classified's; refreshing the product page daily to see if it will be in stock (even teased myself by checking the webstore at Micro Center...pointless) but, decided to jump ship for a couple of Titan X(P)'s. Should be here tomorrow and will be the first non-EVGA card to go in any of my systems since 2005. Thank you for your excellent tech and customer support but, unfortunately the product availability just could not match.

looks like evga is going to be in need of a new online PR person because whoever does that is doing a terrible job, and if there is no one, then they need an online pr person. If you are qualified email  please apply and save us all from this nightmare! This is what it has come to EVGA we are begging rando's on the internet to apply for pr positions at your company so that we aren't in the dark.

From the looks of it they are still working on the 1060 SSC and FTW, but I wouldn't be surprised if those launch soon. As for the 1080, it is a high quality product that they are only making a smaller quantity of, thus they are only getting so many to each partner while the 1070 is getting more made since it is a better value, performance to dollar that is. Now I would love a 1080 classified but I would have to go an hour or more from home to get one, last I saw was 2-3 hours away, so I won't get one anytime soon. I likely will get a 1070 FTW.

Re: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080/1070 Stock Thread 2016/08/09 20:46:58 (permalink)
There's more 1070 stock due to 1 of 2 options.
1. Chip issues causing more 1070 capable dies than 1080 capable dies.
2. Higher demand for 1080s.

Personally, I went with the 1080 as I was upgrading from a 970 that was an upgrade for a 760. Looks like my next upgrades gonna be an 1180Ti.

You would have been in for a long wait for the 1080 Classified at this website - EVGA aren't selling it over the website or anywhere else but at Micro Center, and only over-the-counter there, no online orders whatsoever. That is the ONLY option for the 1080 Classified, unless you want to try to get a used one for $1,000+ on ebay lol.

EVGA has clearly needed a good production planner for years... lack of supply to meet demand has consistently been one of EVGA's few faults, and unfortunately it's a pretty big one. Many years ago I worked as a production planner, and screwing up just once like this would have cost me my job. I hate to think how much business EVGA has lost over the years because of this one issue. Happens every time, yet somehow nobody learns from it. Go figure.

edit: perhaps EVGA are being held back by supply from NVidia, in which case NVidia is the culprit, but EVGA isn't saying anything against NVidia because.. well, you don't bite the hand that feeds you. Then again, other brands have stock available.. so is it that EVGA are so good they get sold out first? If that's the case, NVidia should be supplying more to EVGA since this happens with every new release. Either that, or EVGA aren't ordering enough from NVidia. Either way, someone somewhere is screwing up consistently, and it would be nice if somebody in a position to do so actually tried to rectify this issue.

Maybe I should be thanking EVGA for not allowing me to throw my money at them, lol.

Let's face it this isn't the first time EVGA has screwed up a product launch, it has happened on every series I can remember so to cast blame at Nvidia is off target.
The fact that they can't get it right is one thing the fact that they stay silent and will not give customers any information is another. I love the products but I hate the way they treat us...Like ATM's.

I was able to buy one 08G-P4-6286 FTW from EVGA  website, it was available for 10 minutes only, they sent the email of notification saying it's available and I jumped on the website and I got it.
email sent 16:02 PST  August 9, 2016.

p.s; I've been waiting almost a 3 weeks for this to happen.

Best of luck for everyone of you guys

To be fair to EVGA regarding the transparency of availability, they can't tell you what they don't know. I mean, first, EVGA said stock would stabilize in late June. Then it was early July. Then it was mid July. Then late July. Then they went quiet, and here we are almost mid August and supply is FAR from stabilized. It's more beneficial in their eyes to simply not say anything anymore, except to announce when they have 5 cards in stock, than it is to keep saying stock will be stabilizing soon, and it not happening.

Microcenter near me as 1080 Classified in stock. I'm so tempted to just get one rather than wait for the Hybrid. I really love the insanely low temps of my 980 Ti hybrid, it never exceeds 55 degrees. But then when modded BIOS files come out we can add more voltage, in which case the Hybrid will shine. Decisions decisions...

Has anyone actually received a GTX 1080 of any model for their Step up?

I don't think anyone has.  I've been waiting for more than 2 months.  Get a BS email sometime around June 20th that I'm being upgraded to a new model which kinda gave me some hope they understood wth was going on with their supply and a step-up would happen in a week or two.  Since then silence...

This is the last EVGA card i will buy.  I got suckered, like others, into the step up program under the assumption we could get another card in a reasonable amount of time.  What EVGA has done with the step up is lock in new card buyers and then since they already profited off of them, they send all their new stock, over and over again, to re-sellers.  Once EVGA got our money they don't care anymore.

Step up is a horrible service and if i didn't get suckered into it, I would of already had a GTX 1080 weeks ago buying from some other re-seller as they were available.

Yep was fully aware of this and can not understand why EVGA is doing an exclusive with Micro Center for the 1080 Classified. Making it worse Micro Center not making the product available to purchase online for those of us who are not fortunate enough to have a store in the state. Oh well, in the end I made a crazy purchase but feel it will be an investment for many years to come (or at least till NVidia releases the next big thing )

As much as I love EVGA, I went with another company for the 1080. I was holding out for a classified, but they aren't binned so it's hard to justify the increased price and the wait was just killing me. Hopefully the kingpin card is binned.

So I found a local store that is carrying the classified 1080, I'm really tempted but this card is 100 bux more than the FTW.  I can't really find any youtubers reviewing this card, most of them reviewed the FTW edition.  Is there really that much of a difference between the two?
