System Specs: Windows 7 Professional, EVGA GTX Hybrid 980ti (radiator orientation with hoses on bottom, fan mounted on back of Antec 900 case),  Intel i7 6700K, Noctua DH-15, Single SSD, EVGA 1050G PSU, dual ASUS VG248QE Displays w/ 2xDisplay Port Cables)

My kid was playing Minecraft with Optifine+SEUS Shaders Mod 1.9.2 and after an hour or so, my screens (dual 144 Hz Asus VG248QE) started flickering and screen tearing... My 980 ti Hybrid GPU Temp was in the 80's C and had hit 90C at some point while playing the game. I turned off Minecraft, opened the case and cooled the card down with a desk fan then turned off the system for a bit... started it back up and it's sitting at 55C to 60C without load now. The fan is working, the radiator seems to be working, but there's no way I can  tell if the liquid is circulating... seems to be ok without load. The screen flickering went away, I'm only using 1 screen atm though. I didn't do anything to the fan profile, perhaps I need to change the settings in Precision x16? I left it on Auto thinking EVGA knew what it was doing out of the box.

I was thinking about RMA'ing the card and buying AMD. I've only owned this card for a few weeks and literally this was the first time to play a game with ultra high spec requirements. Disappointed in Nvidia. This is the 3rd build this month, all Nvidia cards (RMA'd 2 other 970's and decided to go 980 at double the cost). I've had nothing but problems. Any comments, appreciated. Thanks.

It sounds like the pump may not be working. Contact support to set up and RMA and they will get it replaced pretty quick for you.

Is there anyway to check if the pump is working? How about in the PrecisionX16 software from EVGA? What's the indication the pump isn't working? btw Ambient temps is like 72F in my house, Vegas Airconditioning - Also, never been overclocked by me, so it's stock out of the box. Thank you for your fast reply

You could remove just the shroud and touch the pump to see if it is working, or you could remove the fan from the radiator, and see if you can feel water moving through it when it is running at idle.

Does the fan work when you it is at idle? The fans for the card both work together, so they should be spinning at least.

I don't want to do anything that would void the warranty. It seems to really heat up when I plug in the 2nd display port, otherwise it's sitting in the mid 50's - fans are both running, but my hardware monitor says the fan is only working 37%, seems low when the temps are nearing 80-90C... perhaps the fans aren't working as intended?

82C Temp Fan running at 39% seems off

The fans don't need to be at a very high speed for it to keep something cool with the pump working properly.

If the fans are spinning, they are working.

I have a feeling the pump may be the issue. Removing the shroud or even refreshing the TIM on the core will not void the warranty, which is the best part of evga. Try removing the fan off the radiator and see if you can feel the pump pushing water through the lines.

Also, where is your radiator placed compared to your pump? Is it above the pump?
