Hi, just wanted to hear from other Hydro Copper owners about there experience with their cards.
I am Very happy with my 2 EVGA GTX 980 Ti Hydro Coppers Cards, but I don't see a lot of reviews or comments online about them.

my Asic Quailty is 74.9 ASIC and 82.7 ASIC the highest ive ever gotten on 2 cards, and i've run (3) evga 580's (3) evga 680, (2) evga 780's and 3 Evga 780Ti's in my PC the past few years.....
I built my first watercooling PC back in January this year with my 780ti's and when the 980ti's came out I wanted to upgrade , but it took me a long time to decide WHICH evga 980ti I wanted..... I could have bought the reference 980ti's and bought water blocks or Classifieds and waterblocked them... or even the Kingpins O.o... maybe... but I am totally happy with the Evga Hydro coppers....

overclocking the GPU's... i've never been good at overclocking GPU's, CPUs.. yes.. but not graphics cards, but after 3 weeks of these cards... i've tested a stable overclock of 1493 mhz and + 200 on the memory

i'm at +37mv overvolt which brings my base voltage of 1.187, 1.149 to 1.23v and 1.87v

Overclock is stable... very stable 12 hours+ of gaming.. mostly on ffxiv, but also GTAV and Tomb Raider

I think maybe I can overclock memory more, haven't tried... as far as I can tell.. I can't really do 1506 mhz stable..... oh and temps... i don't think i've gone higher then 42 C on the gpus.... after hours of gaming im at 39C and 42C MAX temps on the gpus.  I am running thru massive cooling.. 2 360 rads, and a 480.

Any Hydro Copper owners at there?  what are your overclock numbers?

That last screen shot is tomb raider maxxed out at 1440p... with 4x  Smaa

Hey Chad, thanks for the great post.

I just put in a HC last Thursday.  My ASIS Q is 76.4%.  I hit 68degC inline with my i7-5820 CPU and a single 280mm rad.  This was after running the newer Unigine Valley benchmark at 2560x1440 with stock clocks on the HC.  The boost hit 1366MHz.  I am not really pleased with the ASIC quality or temps ATM.

    Hi Chad

Thanks for starting the thread about 980 Ti Hydro Coppers Cards.
Like you i am also running an SLI config.
My Asic Quailty is 71.9 ASIC and 71.2 ASIC which is not to bad in my opinion.
The build was pretty straightforward however i had no idea what SLI linkage and my post to this forum yielded no firm result.

My motherboard has single slot spacing and EK suggested the following items to link the two cards.
EK Water Blocks EK-HD Tube 12/16mm 2-Slot SKU and EK Water Blocks EK-HD Adapter 12/16mm SKU: 3831109845899.
Unfortunately these items did not work for my setup, although the spacing between each PCI-Express slots is 40.6mm
It appears that that the water block on the Evga 980 Ti Hydro Cooper is thicker the standard water block.
To solve my issue I had to purchase Phobya Variable SLI/Crossfire VID Connection Nipple G1/4" 1 Slot - Black Nickel SKU: 64095
and the EK linkage that I purchased for £20.60 was a waste of time and money. other the working out what linkage to use i have had not a single problem
and very happy with my 980 Ti Hydro Coppers.

In terms of performance I am very happy with a rock solid o/c of 1493 Mhz and + 400 on the memory and am currently running 355.83 drivers which a smooth and stable and stutter free.
My GPU temp's have never gone above 41c and my cooling loop consist of 1x Hardware Labs SR-1 280 and 1x 120 Alphacool NexXxoS Monsta powered by a D5 vario Pump.
My rads are fitted with Noctua fans in push pull config and 2 120's on front as intake... runs supa silent.

hope this in is useful and don't hesitate to comment.

My two are running nicely... other than I appear to get coil whine on non-framerate limited menus? I've been able to solve it with EVGA PrecisionX by limiting the max FPS... but... is this a good solution?

LED Logo give so amazing look to computer in dark.
But only Hydro Copper blocks for 980Ti are not available.
You bought together graphic with wateblock?
EKWB model FC-TITAN X is compatible with 980Ti with reference PCB and it's very cool but no Logo on side.

Was wondering what do I need to link two hydro coppers considering I have a 3 slot space in between them? Should I just use compression fittings or is there a more elegant way to connect two hydros together? I plan on using quick disconnects in there so I can remove video cards if I had to upgrade. Also does the cards come with G1/4 caps or plugs?

    Thanks.

As I was two slot I used:

But for 3 slot there are far more fitting such as Bitspower do an adjustable fitting:

They come with enough 4 allen keyable plugs (leaving 2 for in and out). If you do as I did then you only need 3 per card, as I'm attempting to simulate parallel via two extenders between the cards.

Parallel? Your going to split the flow? Please tell me more?

I used this, can use 1 for serial, or 2 for parallel , mine 2 cards have a 3 slot space between them..... I used a bitspower one, but other watercooling parts manufacturers also make similar items.... very easy to install.......

Only image I have showing the "parallel" is really blurred :/ But yeah I decided I'd split the flow, not sure it was worth the effort though :P Everything seems to be fairly cool though :)

Hello again. Got my HC 980Ti and so far, I love it!! Idles around 30C, Load temps 38-40C, but I have not pushed it very long. Ambient temps inside case are about 85F/30C. Can't complain there. Currently I have a 480 Rad cooling just the one GPU. There will be another one in the case at some point, I promise. :)

EDIT. this is just temporary. I will eventually cut some holes in the mid plate on the bottom and straighten out those runs.

    Thank you!!

I did have (2) 290X's in Crossfire. I recently (today) upgraded to a single 980ti HydroCopper

This is my top loop. I made this especially for you dmoheban, so I better get a +1 on my MODS RIGS!!!! :)

This is my bottom loop or was when I had two GPU's. I will eventually get another one though. The flow is the same.

Re: EVGA GTX 980 Ti Hydro Copper Owners :D 2015/09/12 09:41:49 (permalink)
I purchased my 980 Ti Hydro Copper about 6 weeks ago. Previously I had an SLI/980 FTW set up. Performance drop in comparison has been in the neighborhood of 6%. I've lost about 5 fps in COD Advanced Warfare single Hydro vs SLI 980 FTW. Not bad! Since selling the 980's I've been looking for a mate for my lonely Hydro for approximately 3 weeks to no avail and have gotten on every "Notify" list I can find. My loop inside my Corsair 750D is D5pump/res combo to 280mmx35mm front rad to 280mmx45mm top rad to CPU block to GPU, back to pump/res. Temps have been 27 CPU idle and 29 GPU idle (in Vegas in the summer time). Under load CPU will climb to mid to high 50's as well as the GPU. Stress testing the CPU (Intel 5960E) will raise it to the mid 60's and I'm good with that. It's overclocked to 4.4 Ghz.  Previously I had a Corsair H100i push/pull and it would climb into the 70's. I run a mild overclock for gaming on the Hydro of +125 Core and +100 memory with no added voltage and the boost clock will take the 980 Ti Hydro Copper up to the 1480-1490 range, all rock stable in everything. Another profile of +150 clock and +175 memory takes me well above 1500 with the boost clock and a Firestrike score of 18,600+ but it will not hold stable thru COD AW. Possibly a voltage addition will help that but it isn't that important to me. Originally I wanted to put a 360mm in the top of my case but the drive bays would have cut it down to a 30-35mm deep rad and I have more capacity with the 280x45 rad. I'm also running all 1/2"x3/4" tubing so very unrestricted. All fans in my case are Noctua 140mm focused type except for the 150mm rear exhaust. It is VERY quiet. Under load I'm getting about 45 decibels at 3 feet. That's about library quiet. All in all, I love this 980 Ti Hydro and am so glad I finally got around to building a custom loop. It's not a cheap endeavor after dressing up the pump and all the compression fittings but it has been extremely rewarding. Now if I can just find a mate to run SLI and Asus would release their new 27", 144Hz, GSynced IPS panel I could finally call this build complete for a while. You can find more pictures of this build in my Mod Rigs section.

they must have just took it down! It is still in my recent viewed items at the bottom of the product page, but when I click on it, it goes to the B stock page. I still hope I can get one in 6 months or so.

Sad that EVGA no longer has the 06G-P4-4999-KR for sale.
Amazon shows two cards but they want $999.99 each.
Here goes my plan for new cards, guess I will want till the Fall to see what comes out next from NVIDIA.

Did they really discontinue it?  I've been trying to get some for awhile now, last time they were available I couldn't buy due to website store bullsh!t.

I really didn't want to have to buy two normal ones and put my own waterblocks on them, I preferred EVGA's logo and what not.

I am not certain it's discontinued but it has been removed from the product website?  Perhaps someone from EVGA could chime in.

I'm going to to guess (because I don't have a clue ) they aren't discontinued.  When I decided to buy a pair, I went to EVGA and clicked on the 'auto notify' to get an e-mail when they were available.  I get the e-mail, went to lo look and didn't order because I was in a hurry.  That night, they were gone!   I did it again.  This time I ordered them.  Out of curiosity, I checked the day after I ordered them and they were gone again.

I am going to guess that some will show up at places like newegg.   Then again, there is only one thing I know and that's that I'm happy I have my two.

Wow... $200 mark up assuming they got them for $799.  I saw them on e-bay for $1600 once.

Unfortunately, The "Law of Supply and Demand" seems to still be continuing as usual for very limited/desirable products....
