Congrats on the card launch, I've been looking forward to an EVGA 980Ti with a standard height custom PCB. Quick question about the Power connectors on this card, does it require 8+8-pin or 8+6-pin connectors? The comparison chart says it needs 8+8-pin connectors, but in a picture on the product page it appears to have 8+6-pin connectors.

Strange isn't it? The 360 degree overview looks to be 8+6pin connectors. Some clarification here please :)

It has the same clocks of the Classy, so actually it's tied for the fastest next to the K|NGP|N.

Classified stock 1190mhz 1291 boost FTW stock 1190mhz 1291 boost and $10 cheaper with less vrm modules to cool on air while being a reference size board meaning it will fit in tighter cases. Nothing matters until we see air overclocks. If this overclocks the same as the classified, it will be the go to card for the reasons listed above.

THis is what happens when a company doesn't use more than one photo at a time: They only edit the "FTW" on the edge of the card rather than taking a few minutes to get a new photo. Notice the SC, SC+ and the SSC all just simply say SC on the edge of the cooler? Yeah.. I guess it is easier to use one stock photo rather than taking a few photos, lol.. they should have added another 8 pin in place of the 6 pin. P.S. I know you can't read them in this picture.. click through all of the reference size 980ti's... you will see what I mean. Also, look at the 360 view.. you will notice as it turns, the "Badge" is skewed in the pictures in some of them, and the letters look wonky also, lol. I understand why they would use a stock photo for the other cards.. but the "custom PCB" should be afford a few minutes of photo work occasionally.

Since it has two extra vrm on the PCB, and most blocks are cut fairly specific, I would hold off just in case. I would consider it a custom PCB due to the extra vrm. At least ek blocks will have a hard time fitting, since they are normally cut very specific.

It will fit, but it won't work. Note thay the hybrid is only for reference coolers, and this isn't usable.

How so? The K|NGP|N is the only 980Ti that has faster clocks. So it is still correct.

So if the Classified has 14+3 Power Phase and the FTW has 8+2 Power Phase what does this really mean? Is the Classified better at overclocking than the FTW? And what are the other differences between the 2? I am looking at purchasing one of the 2 soon and the $10 price difference is not a concern. Are they different sizes? My head hurts with all the variables.....

More phases = cleaner power to the gpu = better overclock potential & better stability. Classified is wider.

Personally I find the size of the Classified quite obnoxious. I also don't feel there is any real benefit to the Classified line unless you are using water or extreme cooling. I had 680 and 780 Classifieds and I doubt I buy them again. I would much rather have this card. I'm just not sure putting two of these in a case would be a good idea for temperature purposes. I'm still not sold on the twin fan coolers. I'm trying to convince myself, but I'm struggling between these and the reference SC model.
