Edit:
Soon™ just got a lot closer!
It's now in the configurator! Still not in the shop it seems though.

I figure the "These Days" statement was probably a botched Thursday that got autocorrected.

That's actually a pretty plausible explanation.
Then again, wouldn't it be kinda weird if they managed their social media from a mobile device?
I don't know, of course, but over at our company it's all laptops.

So... what they told us about Tuesday is basically they would release a picture... very fancy! I'll print it and try to cool my card with the print of the block then... lets see what happens.

Unreliability at its best... nuff said.

Got my 2 as well, though now I'm somewhat concerned they can only start processing them on Monday, but they already put them up for order anyway.
Ah well, at least I'm sure they're on their way (ish) now.

I got a reply on my ticket as well, it's basically the same answer they posted above:

Even if it's only qualifies as a preorder I'm still satisfied.  They should have put them up for preorder anyway.  That way they could produce enough to satisfy the quantity for people who wanted them right away and still have some stock left over.
Actually it's kind of funny, as soon as we started talking about the Bitspower block, they finally got off their asses.

Oh, I have no doubt Luc did his part in monitoring this thread and passing on our eagerness/impatience
I'm happy this way as well, now I don't have to check up on it or worry about it anymore, they'll just drop onto my doorstep whenever they're available.

I couldn't help it though, I paid extra for the 1-day shipping.
Did I mention I'm eager to get this build started? ^^

I feel bad for the people who bought these cards when they first came out.  I got mine about 3 weeks ago and waiting this long for blocks was too long already.  Finally I can unlock the full potential of these cards.

Re: EVGA GTX 980 Classified waterblocks 2015/02/18 06:37:56 (permalink)
I've had mine since a week or 2 after release, coming from 2 watercooled 780's.
Ran them on air for a week or 2 after that, but I just couldn't get used to air cooling anymore, not to mention the rest of my loop looked kinda awkward after I ghetto'd in the 2 aircooled classy's.

When it looked like it might be a while before the full-cover blocks came out for them, I went ahead and picked up a couple of universal GPU-only blocks, so that's how I've been running them since.

Now it's time to rebuild my system as a mATX rig though (coming from a 900D monster), so I've been eager to get the full-cover blocks and get going.

Re: EVGA GTX 980 Classified waterblocks 2015/02/18 07:13:49 (permalink)
The part contacting the GPU is nickel-plated copper on both, if I'm not mistaken.

The difference is purely visual:
- The nickel + acetal blocks are nickel-and-black, so they look more stealth
- The nickel blocks are nickel-and-acrylic, so you can see through them and see the liquid go through the block

Personally, I went with acetal on my last build, but I'm going see-through this time.
