Any idea if this will be compatible with the 980 Kingpin?

Good question that I unfortunately don't have the answer. Since I wouldn't be able to have it until monday, I think it's best to wait 1 more day to find out.

Re: EVGA GTX 980 Classified waterblocks 2015/02/17 03:22:27 (permalink)
The upcoming EK-FC980 GTX Classy for GTX 980 Classified is coming out these days, together with the little brother EK-FC970 GTX ACX for EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 ACX (2.0) series graphics cards.

Now I must really say it was computer-wise the worst decision of my life to buy the Classified instead of the Hydrocopper card. Disaster is the only fitting word to describe what is happening here. I was always holding EK in high regards but now I really feel being messed around with. I know what I am talking about since I am working by myself in the field of hardware product development and in my company whoever was responsible for such a mess would probably instantly be ejected or at least be moved to a position of responsibility. Looks like EK still has to learn that reliability is of high importance not only for products but also for the company itself. Everything that I as a (possible) customer want is such situations are clear and faithful words and no more vague statements. I learned my lesson and I really hope EK also learns their lesson some day; it makes me sad to see such a talented company messing up this way and creating a childish image (at least that's the way it looks from my point of view).
It might be the frustration speaking out of me and if this reads like a rant-post I am sorry, this was not my intention... please take it as constructive criticism

I think the word "these days" is a grammar mistake. I could be wrong though. Only Luc can confirm.  Anyways! its Tuesday and nothing in the web shop or on EK's fb.

Eagerly waiting, myself.
I'm still pretty sure it'll pop up for sale today, when I read "these days" I figured it was a bit of a mistranslation.
Stuff like that happens quite often when writing in a language that's not your primary.

Anyway, I've got my fingers crossed and am refreshing the EKWB News page every 5 or so minutes.
(I'm not being very productive at work today, damn you EK! ^^)

At least there's hope now that we will get one.  Of course if it's not posted within the next 6 hours or so it probably won't be going on sale today, if the company is based in Slovenia, which is what their website says.  They're about 6 hours ahead of us on the east coast.  If that happens I'm gonna PM the EK guy a pic of my nutsack

...wait
On Friday they officially announced they'd be releasing the blocks this morning, but now it's suddenly 2 more weeks?
If the block needed 2 more weeks before being ready for release, wouldn't they have already known that last week anyway?
It seems incredibly silly to me that they would make a public statement saying the blocks will be ready today a couple of days ago, to now suddenly ask for 2 more full weeks.

I've got a build that's literally dead in the water until I get 2 of these blocks in. All of the hardware has arrived, all it's waiting for is the waterblocks to arrive...
I'm doing acrylic tubing, so without these blocks I can't even start prepping the rest of the build already.

I'm really getting very frustrated :(

I... I'm an idiot.
I apologise to everyone that had to read my rant.

Seriously though, I'm so excited to get this build going, I guess refreshing the news section every 5 minutes seriously affected my reading comprehension *blush

Sorry Luc, and EK in general!
Still waiting eagerly :)

... talking as if we could order that block today... Sorry but that reliability got lost over the past three months and trust has to be earned. We will see although I doubt that block will appear in the shop today. All I can do is point at my post earlier today in this thread -> "clear and faithful words and no more vague statements". All I can see here is another vague defensive statement without any faithful content on WHEN or even WHY (exactly).
Hint: you just missed the chance on releasing a lot of customers wasting their time by killing their "F5" key.
(It's called marketing as long as they F5 a single page they won't have the time to spend more money elsewhere for other products on your web shop)
