If you want to play on low settings, for the most demanding games, then your setup will be okay. I have to play BF4 on medium in order to maintain 1080p at 120fps all the time... Good luck with that 2560x1440 at 144hz, on your 780....

well im not tryin to keep it at max frame rate at all time im tryin to get the g-sync advantage so i can get rid of the tare and lag and get the smoothness, im well aware that i run bf4 on ultra 1440p with about 70-120 fps and dives to 60fps with allot of action going on, but isnt that whats the g-sync is good for also ?

Im very happy with my 780 6GB does 8 feet of surround with out a problem and it does 4k UHDTVs with out issue. G sync would be nice but only if it were a devise to hook up with current monitors or hdtv's

The main concept behind Gsync is that even when playing at high settings and only getting say 40FPS, it will look as good & play smoother than someone running at 120/144FPS on a non Gsync display.

Also, I'm not sure the realistic objective for most is to be able to peg the FPS at 120.  That may be optimal, but not likely if you want the highest settings.  When I play BF4, I use all Ultra settings with 2x MSAA, and generally run between 100 - 120 FPS.  I use adaptive vsync in the game profile.  Works very nice I might add.

Asus even recommends one use the lightboost option, and not the Gsync option, for FPS games. It makes sense as there will be virtually no motion blur with lightboost. You cannot use both lightboost and Gsync at the same time. Therefore, if you play FPS games then the lightboost option would be best and would work best at a steady 120fps.

atm i play fps games but my pc is mainly for games like assasins creed unity/ fra cry 4/ wow wod/ and least of all the witcher 3 so its quite a mix of games, but what i really want is that real life feeling in the games wich this just dosnt deliver

Make sure you watch the whole thing.  Around the 7:30 mark, he mentions if you want to run at high to ultra settings, a 780 or above is needed.

How does it play? My system will be somewhat similar to yours, except SLI 6GB cards and a 2nd monitor.....

    Seagate 2TB Hybrid SSHD
    ASUS VK266H 1920 X 1200 60Hz (secondary display)

I'm currently trying to decide between SWIFT, LG 34UM95, or LG 34UM94 (rumored Sept 1 release). TBH, I don't do much fast-paced gaming where the 1ms will make a difference vs the 5ms of the LG ones. I am aware of the G-Sync driver issues with multiple displays. The LG display isn't quite perfect either heh...but all are really close!

Whichever primary display i choose, wil be run via Display port. Secondary monitor will use HDMI.

    So tough to choose.....

i plays fantastic compared to anything else i tried, had to take some of the setting down to high from ultra in bf4 tho all other games runs perfectly on ultra settings but still - all games feels kinda next gen with Gsync!!its just so smooth..
With sli on thease cards u wont have a problem at all even on ultra, u might not run at 144 fps at all time but u wont have any problems specially with gsync..
only thing im gonna miss a bit is colours going from and asus pls panel with same resolution as this monitor, tho i dont mind the trade of becouse this is just amazing! I hate looking at tear and lag cant stand it and this just eliminates all issues i ever had.. and compared to a benq 120hz i tried this is still a monster, the 8 bit panel is a beauty compared to other tn panels and since i prefer  2560x1440p in gaming, its just all i needed !

It does take allot of power from the gpu tho so im saving up for when the new gtx 880 ti comes out at some point i think its gonna hit the spot on this machine ^^

Thanks for the great description! I broke the bank with the rig I'm building LOL, so after SLI 780 SC 6GB, I sincerely doubt I'll upgrade any time before 980 Ti. My pocketbook can't handle doing this very often!

Congrats on the nice setup man, it should make you very happy :)

How does it play? My system will be somewhat similar to yours, except SLI 6GB cards and a 2nd monitor.....

Only problem with this monitor is quality control... Like everything ASUS really. Mine came with two scratches on the bezel. I was able to fix them and decided to keep the monitor in fear of getting one that's worse. This one has a flawless screen. No backlight bleeding and no pixel issues. I do have to drop settings to maintain max FPS though.

Ive been running Gsync on my Asus 24" 144hz monitor now since it was released last Xmas. Gsync makes for the ultimate gaming setup. From 30hz-144hz perfect sync between gpus and monitor. 0 tearing, 0 lag. In reality its the first setup that truly allows SLI setups to perform identical(ie no artifacting like single card setups)to single card systems.

I get a kick outta people thinking an IPS monitor ='s better than TN...............definitely not necessarily the case at all. My Asus panel is superior to most IPS panels in Contrast, brightness, gamma tracking and greyscale, pixel response and very very low input lag.
