Million dollar question for Jacob:

From my understanding the board partners have some control how much over-voltage they allow on the 700 series cards. Will the hydro coppers or HC Classifieds be allowed higher voltage settings from the vanilla versions? Or are all EVGA cards set to allow the highest available voltage allowed per Nvidia? Could you provide any details in this area?

I bought a 680 Hydro Copper classified, and it is a beast! But was a little disappointed that many air cooled cards could match the performance in clock rates.

Thank you!

I am also waiting for the Classified Hydro.  Need to know the price and release on this so I can plan this out.

Voltage no, power target, yes to an extent. Depending on VRM/cooling solution.

Thing is, if the pricing follows suit, the classified hydro will be 899. As that price is fine for what you are getting, it's 100 bucks away from Titan territory. Adds a lot of confusion for me as to what path I should choose. Currently I'm only single monitor 1080, but as we will see a rise in resolutions in tv's and monitors, maybe the Titan is a better choice in the long run since the VRAM is doubled. I won't be able to afford to water cool it for a while, but now I'm stuck. Titan, or 780 hydro classified. Guess ill wait for the numbers, benchmarks, etc. I was so close to the submit order button for the normal hydro, now I'm so far away!! (The extra 1-2" on the classified water block, the mystery port, and the double 8 pin power have me intrigued on what this thing can do)

I hope you're wrong with guess of the $899 price tag on the classified hydro.  That would be over my $850 max range unfortunately.

My guess was also in the $850 range. I also, believe that Jacob stated in another thread that the 700 series was not going to have an EVBot, but then said they were checking into it (http://forums.evga.com/fb.ashx?m=1940094). It appears it is very much up in the air. But he did just state above no control over the voltage, just power target. (http://forums.evga.com/fb.ashx?m=1944538)

Ordered 2 of these this morning. My only concern is my motherboard. It's an ASUS Maximus IV Extreme (B3) running BIOS 1204. It has been a rock solid system for 2 years with my i7 2600K CPU.

I don't like to update a mobo BIOS just because a newer version is available if everything is working. I've read horror stories of using the versions that added support for the Gen 3 i7 CPUs when you're still using a Gen 2 like I am. Just curious if anyone has the same mobo with a GTX 780 and Sandy Bridge CPU and what BIOS they are using.

Thank you.

I know you guys are busy with the Z87 launch and all, but any ideas when the specs will be release for the Classified HydroCopper series?

And possibly a release date?

Trying to organise getting them to Australia now and the more info I can get my hands on the better chance I'll have of picking one up.

Hey Jacob, any plans for a 770 HydroCopper since the cards could use the same cooler with just a sticker change? I can't really afford nor need the power of the 780HC, but would have to have a 770HC!

It should just take the same block. EK have said as much on their website that the Titan block will fit the GTX7xx's.
Go for it.

....Hmmmm.... just had a little look around and there may be a slight difference. Hold off till we find out more I think.

Just a quick question. I have 2x 680 hydro coppers in SLI using this
Would that work with the new 780 Hydro copper normal/classified? I havent seen a new one for the 700 series. THX

Just an update guys; I got my 780 Hydro Copper and installed it in a single loop with my 4770k. It idles at 28C and after a couple of hours gaming it ran 33-35C in a room that was 27C! That is outstanding!
Not to mention, the card looks sick.

Amazing and great temps.  Thank you for the pics!

What is your H20 setup since you have your ambient temp at 27c with good loading temps?  My guess is you're on a 120.3 up top from the looks of the way your tubing is routed.

Yeah, it's the XSPC RX360 radiator with a d5/variable pump. I"m surprised at how cool it keeps the system, especially while gaming. I have yet to see the 780 go over 38C under load and the 4770K  has peaked at 52C under load @4.1ghz.

I can tell you that @ 2560x1600 VSync'd 60Hz, it doesn't matter.  I have the GTX 780 Hydro's 2-way SLI on an Asus P8P67 Pro w/ 2600k @ 4.6Ghz, and they are destroying anything I throw at it.

The one exception is Far Cry 3 at 8xMSAA the game's FPS dips to the mid 50 FPS range.  I had to crank it down to 4xMSAA (while leaving everything else at highest settings) for a smooth 60FPS.  Vram was around 1.5 - 2.0 GB, so it wasn't a Vram issue.

Bioshock Infinite ran completely smooth throughout - there were some parts of the game where Vram hit 2.5GB.  This concerns me a bit because it makes me wonder if 3GB Vram will be enough for next gen titles like BF4.

Overclocking:  Using Precision X, I was able to max my overvoltage and power without any issues.  I was also able to bench 3DMark FireStrike at core 50+ offset and mem 50+ offset all day long.  HOWEVER, it was completely unstable in real games.  Far Cry 3 was especially unstable to any overclocking.  So for gaming, it's best to just use what EVGA clocked it at.
