I'm sorry for the confusion, but EU customers are eligible for the step up program: http://eu.evga.com/support/stepup/

As mentioned above; I CANNOT Step-Up.

Part Number: 03G-P4-2784-KR
Part Desc: EVGA GeForce GTX 780 SC w/ EVGA ACX Cooler

Seems you can step-up from everything except from these cards. Sigh.

It says:

This product is not available for Step-Up.

Oh well, doesn't matter too much anymore, decided to sell these cards probably and going for a different route/brand.

Anyone here from the UK that has stepped up a GTX 780 SC? I am looking for an approximate total cost, along with how long it took to send the card out and receive the new one.

This leaves me with 2 100-BP-2780-B9 backplates and eventually, 2 GTX 780 SC 6GB cards. What I am looking to find out is whether the 100-BP-2780-B9 backplates that fitted the EVGA GTX 780 SC 3GB (03G-P4-2784-KR) will fit the new 6GB SC 780 cards (06G-P4-3787-KR)?

If not, do EVGA plan to release a backplate for the new 6GB 780's? I would really prefer my cards to have them fitted! If my current ones will fit the new 6GB cards, even better.

Many thanks!

Yes, they fit. Physically the card is the same.

Aha! That is excellent news! Thank you for responding!

I have activated my Step Up but have not had to make payment or send the card back yet. I am stepping up GTX 780 SC ACX.

From the "My Products" section of "Member Home" I selected my card and clicked the Step Up button.

After entering my buy price in Euro I had to chose a card from the drop down list. There is only one 6GB 780 listed which is the base model. I then clicked the €12 shipping and went t the next page.

Here I was presented with the option to upgrade to the GTX 780 SC ACX 6GB (a direct 3GB to 6GB upgrade of my existing card.) This cost a further €20.

After this you are presented with a grand total and the option to confirm your Step Up request. My final price was €12 shipping from EVGA, €20 to get a SC version and then the difference between what I paid for my card and the EVGA listed price for the base model GTX 780 6GB listed currently at €549.90 (06G-P4-3785-KR).

Of course I will have to pay a courier cost to ship my card to EVGA which I haven't included as I haven't shipped back yet.

I hope that helps somewhat!

Thanks for the answer; this sounds like about 130-150 euro in total  (for me), which doesn't sound too bad at all.

I just received an email from the evga step-up que saying that the promotion has now started.  I have a EVGA GeForce GTX 780 SC 3GB w/ EVGA ACX Cooler. SC version.
I followed instructions to get to my product and when I click on "details" it still says that my product is not available to step-up.
I also looked on the step-up list and it has been updated but I guess it still appears there is no existing upgrade with my "version" of my card to the 6GB.

Can someone from EVGA help me out here?
Since the GTX 780 SC is not on the list, as I suspected, can I just step up to the regular GTX 780 6GB and pay the difference?  Like this one:
  • EVGA GeForce GTX 780 6GB w/ EVGA ACX Cooler - (06G-P4-3785-KR)
Thanks.

Once you agree to start the Step-Up with the base 6GB 780, the next page in the process will offer you the chance to upgrade to the 6GB SC version. Don't worry that it's not listed!

That's the thing I'm trying to say.  I can't even get to the next page to step-up.  It says under details that my product is not available for step-up.
And there is nothing further I can do to proceed with this step up.  Here is a screenshot of my product detail page:

From the looks of it you didn't register it within 14 days and upload your invoice.  You need to purchase the ext war to upgrade. the warr transfer to the new card.

Thanks so much bigmac121.  I finally got the correct answer I was looking for.  Ya, I just realized I had a "3 year" warranty GPU which has to be registered within 14days of purchase.
But with a "lifetime" warranty GPU you have 90 days to register.
It's funny because they just started the promotion I think the same month I bough my card.

Does anyone here know where I can find how much it would cost to step-up from an EVGA GTX 780 SC 3GB w/ACX cooler (03G-P4-2784-KR) to a 6GB version of regular or SC?
I want to see if it is worth stepping up because I have to pay a $30 extended warranty (because I missed th 14 day registration) in addition to the cost of stepping up.

$30 extended warranty, $40 for the 6GB upgrade, $20 extra if you want the SC version, $12 shipping. That is your cost to EVGA, add in the cost to ship your current card back to them (cost me roughly $15 for 2 day shipping to EVGA)

Total your looking at around $100 cost for regular, $120 for SC.

Thanks for the answer SkylerJ.

Whoa! That adds up to more than I thought.  I just bought my card last month for about $500.
So in essence, if I did proceed with the 6GB SC ACX version, I would have spent a total of $620  when it cost $570 on EVGA's site.  No thank you.
I should have returned it for a refund but I just found out about the step-up program a little too late.
But even if I returned it I would've ended up paying shipping and restocking fee too.  So I would lose money doing that too. Oh well. Thanks again.

I just received my step up card and was extremely excited at the turn around time however upon opening the package I found that one of the rear ACX cooler fins had come detached from the card and was loose in the package!

Attempting to initiate an RMA and a bit miffed that I am going to be out a graphics card for another few days while I wait for a replacement.

Can someone give me a rough idea of how long it takes EVGA to ship out your replacement cards when you Step-Up?  My pair of GTX780 3GB reference cards were received early yesterday by EVGA.  I am "stepping up" to a pair of ACX GTX780 6GB (stock voltage) cards.  It now says "Shipped Out: Pending" and has since early yesterday.  Just wondering the rough turn-around time on this phase.. couple days probably?

They received mine last Friday and shipped it out Monday evening. It was pending until for about 5 hours then it said shipped around 8:30 PM. Right now I'm waiting for the UPS guy to arrive. It's scheduled to arrive today sometime. It's about 4:30, and I'm going crazy.

My cards shipped late yesterday (or at least that's when the system updated).  I should have them both by Tuesday according to UPS tracking.  The wait continues! Fortunately I have a 2nd desktop with an R9 280x so I'm not totally hosed on gaming while I wait.

Hey guys, I just got 6gb GTX 780 but had a couple concerns. 1) Geforce experience does not recognize my card. It wouldn't let me install the graphics driver through the program. Not a big deal as I just installed the 337.50 from Nvidia's website. 2. Some games won't recognize the extra 3gb of memory. Rome 2 Total War, for example, would still only recognize 3072MB of memory. This is also not a big deal as I just checkmark the unlimited video memory option.

Anyone else with the card seeing the same issues as me? Thanks!

Wanted to seek out the best advice I could for your Geforce Experience problem. So see below     =)

maniacvvv
Nvidia GeForce Experience

The -number one- reason this software was developed is to gain complete access and two way communication abilities, so that information about your hardware, OS and software configuration can be gathered and sent to Nvidia for resale.
THIS SOFTWARE COLLECTS INFORMATION THAT MAKES NVIDIA -MONEY-

All the features of this software are -secondary- to its primary function (making money by collecting and then selling your info)
-->and are only there to "entice" you to install and use the software. By doing so you agree to Nvidia's TOS and PP

*Since this "collect your data and sell it" model is widely used (Steam, Origin, Xfire, Synapse...etc) and accepted by many users, its NOT really that big of a deal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The REAL problem is the "GFE" program itself..
-->it does not work correctly and in many cases is one of the PRIMARY reasons for user performance problems and driver install/game issues.
Nvidia does NOT support the GFE development team with enough money or staffing/talent to even BEGIN to be able to make the features WORK
-->Its basicly a "garage" operation of coding nerds (not gamers) without a proper budget, equipment or staff
--------------------------------------
--------------------
----------
----

Lets take a DETAILED look at Nvidia's sales pitch for the "NEW" GeForce Experience 2.0 posted right here at the EVGA forums
 http://www.evga.com/articles/00834/

First: The HOOK (sales pitch)

Wow! that sounds great.... custom software for my Nvidia card (directly from Nvidia, so its got to work perfectly)
That updates my drivers, makes my games run better and I can record and show off my gameplay. And all of this for free, thats awesome!!
---------------------
Here is the FAQ page at Nvidia for the GFE http://www.geforce.com/geforce-experience/faq
And here is the Nvidia privacy policy http://www.geforce.com/privacy-policy
---------------------

This feature is a primary selling point for the GFE
It claims to allow you to "one click" from the desktop and install your Nvidia driver. That sounds GREAT.

Except for the realities of how different users systems are KNOWN to be, how different their OS version setups can be, what browser/browser config they might be using, and of course the biggest problem of all -what might be running on the system- when a user attempts to update after the box pops up on the desktop.....
thats BAD
---------
Nvidia does NOT warn you in ANY WAY, nor does the GFE or Nvidia driver installer give a user any notice of ANY KIND...
That something (software) is running that might be BROKEN, should the driver install proceed. Its just going to go ahead and install and possibly break it.
Nor will it tell you that you have ANY problems, that could cause the driver install to FAIL. Its just going to run, and then tell you it "failed".
thats BAD
---------
Once you use the GFE to update your Nvidia driver and it gives you a "FAILED to Install" message, you are on your own.
There are NO FEATURES to diagnose or to fix driver install problems contained in the GFE program.
So a user has no idea what has happened. Running it again will generate the same error....
Thats BAD
---------
The GFE (by default) will install every single Nvidia driver component using a "express install" (including many that your system does NOT support and/or you will not use) and does NOT remove saved information from the Nvidia control panel.
Should a user have made changes in the NVCP that have been causing issues or crashing, the new driver install will apply those incorrect settings and those problems will follow the user into his new driver install..
thats BAD

 Supported games list http://www.geforce.com/ge...rience/supported-games
THIS feature is one of the main reasons that Novice users install the GFE. It is also one of the MAIN reasons for -serious- problems in games should it be used.
The primary issue with this "optimization" is that it needs to actually go directly into a games files--> AND MODIFY THEM for this feature to work.
The problems arise when the GFE writes -incorrect data- into these game files, causing SERIOUS issues that are extremely difficult or impossible to recover from without reinstalling your entire game.
Many users have damaged their game "settings config" files in this manner (but don't know it) and are now unable to play that game without problems.
The GFE will NOT tell you this has happened, and will not FIX it for you...
-->and will not even notify you, that Nvidia KNOWS it broke your game files and KNOWS how to fix them. (the corrupted config files must be rebuilt)
Thats more than BAD, its disgusting
------------
One of the worst falsehoods about this feature, is the fact that it does NOT help users understand the limitations of their system config.
Nor does it HELP them get it setup correctly. It basically sets everything to MAX or to MED or to LOW without giving the user any real information on WHY certain settings are effecting FPS, Image Quality or Gameplay...
thats BAD

This feature is nice, as GPU acceleration is very helpful when recording gameplay.
The primary problem is that users do NOT understand the "costs" to running such software.. to themselves or to others.
IE--> Game performance, Internet performance and hard drive/SSD stress
-----------------
Its just terrible when mid-range/low-end players are using this software when playing with others and seriously impacts the gaming experience of other players.
thats BAD

My personal observations and experience about the GeForce Experience

As a very active member of the EVGA forums who helps and supports users experiencing problems with Nvidia drivers and driver related issues...
The #1 cause of the issues I work on every day, is the GeForce Experience

Its default install behavior and its corruption of third party programs like Precision (and many others) is APPALLING!
Its -damaging- of game config files has left many thousands of users with broken games (and many don't even know this has happened)

The VERY first thing I ask a user reporting problems...
--->Do you have the GFE installed?

Thats very BAD indeed.

I recommend that users do not install or use the GFE for the reasons I have posted
--> its just not worth the problems it can create

NVIDIA HALL OF SHAME--> https://forums.geforce.co...10/geforce-experience/

*There is even WORSE news about the GFE
There has been -serious- talk coming out of Nvidia about making the GFE -->REQUIRED<-- for Nvidia driver installs.
Let us hope that this never occurs

Hello @xrayman, thanks for the reply. I personally never had any problems with GeForce experience in the past. It's been a convenient tool for me to update my drivers and record gameplays.

Unfortunately that post doesn't help me fix my issues. Again, this is not a big deal for me. But I would like some official support from Nvidia.

They are the exact same size as the regular 3gb 780. Only change was overall VRAM amount. Doesn't change the size of the card.
