Is it just me, or did the SR-2 make following extreme OC'ing more boring? It's like it's a board specifically constructed for benchmarks, it's like these new Ferraris that are "technically" the fastest road cars in the world - but when you buy them you're not allowed to keep them in your own garage, you're only allowed to drive them on specific racetracks etc.

I like that EVGA thinks about the benching community, i'm just saying i liked the good 'ol days better.

Its also a work station board.... if that board came out sooner I would had gotten one... like if it would had came out during the classified or shortly after... I understand for the delay to offer stat III/6 and usb 3.0 but meh that board is not aimed at you really its more for someone who does alot of work with thier cpu, or a benchers dream, or some insane gamer that just has to have the best.... like the classified its more than most need... but its for extreme ocers"who cannot go to or get their hands on an SR-2, Someone who does work/play that wants an amazing board for the best options/setup and quality... the other lower end boards do not give you the options on where to put cards, where to put your pcie 1x slot cards and so on that also do not want to dump the money on duel higher end xeons, or the xtreme gamer that wants the best but wants the best within reason... but yeah even the classified is a bit more with a ton of extras that most will not use/need.  I remember asking during the 680/780 mobo days an evga server board... that I could overclock with... and now here it is.... if I didnt have what I have now and my rare case I would had jumped on one... but having the case I have would had made spending the 1200 i did pointless to get my grubbies on it...

As for the scores awesome... and yup the GTX 580's need those volt mods, or the voltage portion of the GTX 480 to mod onto them for extreme ocs due to the GTX 580's design and limitations on extreme voltages on the voltage portion of its pcb. Since one guy did the franken mod on extreme systems with a single cpu socket mobo and a single GTX 580 w/ the 480's voltage section and got 40k... I bet kingpin if he did the crazy mod could possibly push the voltages maybe a bit higher on those gpus.

+1, this board is a work station beast, man to only be able to build a CAD station with one and a couple nvidia quadro 6000's.
Productivity would go through the roof, Boss would be so happy and give me a huge raise, i could send all three kids to the best schools.........

A raise?  Really?  Where I work it wouldn't even be noticed and some old cronie who needs to retire would get the raise.

I think it´s a bad result for 2xW3680 and 4xGTX580 (under liquid nitrogen).
....and this is a promoted Bench-Record

..and i dont like ugly dirty keyboards!

Having the top score is a bad result?  I agree that the lead it has over single 980x rigs isn't as high as we'd like to see so I suppose Vantage doesn't take advantage of two physical CPUs very well.

Actually Vantage only takes advantage of 12 threads, so you don't get as good scaling on the CPU's as you could of if you had the full 24.

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags!
The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. When you abuse it, it reverses on you and it hurts you.The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

I think a SR2 should do better with Engineering Samples (free multi, lower bus possible)
1070 MHz is a really low frequenzy for voltage-modded-Cards.

Lend me that hardware and i will create a litte bit more...

However it is a nice performance

I'm happy for you guys. Ultimately though, who the hell is going to use liquid nitrogen as a realistic testbed? No ONE. It's great that these speeds can be achieved, but please don't attempt to exaggerate what the reality of the situation is. I find the test results using liquid nitrogen BS. Not one person, who spends THOUSANDS of hard earned dollars, gives a flying F what the cards can do when using such asinine tests. You don't need to market your cards using kingpin. They sell themselves. Just don't change your warranty policy and everything will be just fine. You'll make the money that you need to make. BS is easily seen through.

Dude YOU ROCK!!!!!!!  I have to admit I'm just a bit jealous of your relationship with EVGA and the tedious "JOB" of setting world record benchmarks with the latest and most powerful computer components on the planet from the most respected Mfg'er of mobo's and GPU's.  If you ever need a gofer or assistant I'm available! I'm on disability and worked in Instumentation and Standards for a major company.  When it comes to this stuff all pride goes out the window!  I'm serious - kkfredde@yahoo.com

Well said but, from a marketing stand point Evga is doing the right thing.  It has been shown that in the tech space, record breaking hardware is a great way to sell product, even to people who know they will never attemp runs like Kingpin.  I applaud Evga for not only their products but for the marketing campains.  I wish they had a little more shine when it came to youtube vids, like the product lineup-show off at CES LV.  It came off a little college radioish.  Grats EVGA!
