Jacob, it looks as though the spot where the thermal pad resided on the 480 gtx has been replaced by an open area. Just curious as to why this is?
I remember the pad on my 480 gtx seemed to get almost waxy as it was transferring heat to the plate, it seemed to really be doing something. Is the thermal dissipation better just leaving the rear of the gpu open or what?

Any ETA on when they will be back in stock? Got my 580 today and missed out on getting the backplate.

Do these offer any cooling advantages or are they mostly for looks?

You should be able to, The HC2 series is a single slot solution, I don't see why you included someone that would take that way from it.

I'll be using the aquagrafx coolers. If the EVGA ones work, I would assume they will as well. babyballa

Additionally, considering I will need to purchase 7 of them, I would hate to waste 140 dollars on something I can't use.

The Koolance screws have rounded heads and thin plastic washers increasing the height off the board, compared to the T6 flush mounts. I may have to drill holes so the backplate fits flush over those screws. I will have to get my hands on them to be sure, but from the pics, it is logical.

What size of drill bit do you plan on using? I'm gonna be using AquaComputer blocks and I noticed that they use round head screws as well. I'm afraid I'll have to do the same mod. Now I wish EVGA had all their mounting screws exposed on their backplates.
