Meh, I just bought an EVGA 850w B2 bronze power supply. Didn't know about the extra warranty promo

I saw one on sale at Newegg (the 1050) for $149 the other day. Came here...couldn't find any info. I guess it is that new.

why did the warranty went down from 10 years (G2/P) to 7 years (GS/PS) Jacob?

Probably because manufacturer of platform (Seasonic) have some proposition how long platform can give same specification as new.
Every hardware have limited number of hours how much can work. Same is for Seasonic Gold and Platinum and CORSAIR also give 5-7 years on Seasonic platforms.

maybe Vlada011, but according to general reviews Leadex and Seasonic platforms seem to be on par.
I would like to know if EVGA really trusts the Leadex platform more or is the 10 year warranty just a sells increasing PR game.

EVGA SuperNOVA 1050 Gold based on Seasonic platform video clip... Only flaw of this PSU compare to G2/P2/T2 is because no Sleeve Cables, still, maybe later. But customers maybe could ask here http://cablemod.com/ for sleeve set in future.

1300 G2 have 10 years warranty. Not only 1300 G2, other G2/P2/T2 models as well.

It's not step back, only G2 models are excellent. 850 GS got 10 Performance score, Gold PSU but Platinum Efficiency. Score is less because other things...Nothing Bad is final conclusion same as "If the store's out of stock on the G2 models, you now have no excuse to not buy an EVGA". I would choose only rather G2 because sleeve cables, but looks like EVGA don't care to sell them in Europe. Yes, yes all most important things are excellent... voltage regulation, Platinum efficiency, very efficient under low load, ripple suppression excellent as well, he say. That's classic Gold Seasonic last generation inside, without any flaw.

that's why I said step back, G2 gives more for the money.
as of now as JonnyGuru says the new CS seems to mostly compete with the G2.
the decision between the two is a no brainer for me.
imo this series should be even more cheaper than the G2 to compete with other companies solutions instead of the G2.

Sure it's step back, but it cost less. Moreover GS are now made by Seasonic and not by Super Flower. I don't know what transformers they use in GS but transformers in Seasonic are buzzing (same Corrsair's) - ok, it's not very noisy but it's there. At least Seasonic X 750W I owned before had this issue. They are using non-braided wires whilst G2 uses braided ones in transformer which I believe helps to reduce the transformer buzz significantly. Also temp regulation is not so great here and fan starts to spin much sooner than in G2. I don't know what's the price difference between GS and G2 but I would definitely buy G2. 10 years warranty is also much better deal...

So far I'm very happy with my EVGA SuperNOVA 1300 G2, It really does deliver and ALL the devices I shoved in my HAF Stacker (Which is a lot of space to fill) always run without any problems of power!
