I noticed a few small issues with V2.

Also, I would really like to see the 90% content width reduced to 80 or 85% width.

The v2 theme is better, but the site still looks awful at higher DPI.  I normally operate at 200%, just dropped down to 150% and it's still far from user friendly.  Object panels slide around (especially noticable in the user control panel) and I generally have to slide like a type writer to read posts.

I'm not blind, I just sit 13ft away from the screen so I need my fonts etc. at a readable size.  I suppose someone could mail me This TVand I could switch to 100% DPI and stop complaining about the issue; whichever comes first I suppose.

V2 is best, but I'll miss the dark theme till it gets ironed out.
I think if the post area was this dark, White text will work great, title can stay in teal, I think that works on any color theme.
Actually I think you can even bring back your orange too Rob, if you decide the Dark theme can get a little darker.

Your forum title in the yellow box is just a little rough, your forum title should stand out boldly as a proud display of forum status.

I'm using IE10 with Win7, and I seem to be having some trouble with finding "Additional Options" after clicking on "User Control Panel". It's not at the top of my screen. So I can't comment on the changes.

I do believe, to get folks to like the darker gray background, would be to allow for more color.

I've been reading the EVGA forums for some time now, and now it is more difficult to read the details, especially under the Avatar...the small print.

Make sure you are on the "Edit" tab.  Then on the left side there is "Additional Options"

Same here. Out of the 3 options, V2 is the best one for me.

I'm liking Classic V2
Better contrast between background and text.
The user info, Posts count, Join date, etc still needs better contrast.
That related posts popup thing at the bottom of every OP is annoying.
Can we make it not auto popup or something?

Alright, I can get used to the new forum now I believe. The black on black thing was killing me, Classic theme with black/White is much easier on the eyes. Thank you.

Honestly I think I would prefer "EVGA" if the background color was a little darker gray.

Re: EVGA Forum Skin : EVGA_Light 2013/09/19 20:25:48 (permalink)
I think most would agree that the size of some of the items are a bit alienating.  Some members of this forum have already complained that some stuff is huge and looks like it is optimized for a tablet or phone.  If this forum already has a mobile version, why design the desktop version in this manner?

I think if the font size and padding of some items such as the footer or the forum navigation page were adjusted, the forum would be much less alienating and easier to navigate.  As it is now, it feels like I have to scroll forever through the main forum navigation page.

Compare left and right images.  The only difference between those two images is the padding of the cells.  The resolution and font sizes are identical.

Thanks for listening to my opinion!

It seems like EVGA listens to other people's input but aren't listening to mine.

I edit the theme and get it just the way I like, and then when I go to another page I wish I could make it easily go back the way I had it.  So, I will express my opinions and hope that some of them get implemented.  They really are easy changes which require no modifications to images and should be able to be accomplished in a matter of minutes.  I don't know why EVGA does not incorporate these changes.

Thanks kaninja and kram36 for instructions. I'm actually liking the new EVGA style better than the others. I think grey is a neutral color and the contrast looks fine to me and reading the comments is easy. I still think it would be nice if we could add color to our lettering in the signature...you know, adding color against grey just looks better.

White print on grey just works better for me. I've always had a problem with looking at black print on white, just too much contrast. Black on tan would also work better for me, looking at white can just be too much for any length of time. It's probably just me, but when I go into other peoples homes, when they have all their walls painted white, with all the lights on, I just want to leave. Give me a log cabin with oil lamps and all is fine.

Yep Classic V2 is the best, and rob took my suggestion on it too which was adding the greyish line between the posts and thread titles, looks much better.

I think it looks pretty good too. Will be interesting to see when people post screenshots with the forum in the background, what skin they are running.

Hello All,

We have introduced another option for your forum skin.  It is called EVGA_Light.  Below is how to enable the alternate skin.

1.  Make sure you are logged into your account.
2.  Click on "User Control Panel" at the top of your screen.
3.  Click on "Additional Options"
4.  Use the "Forum Theme" drop down to change the theme to EVGA_Light.
5.  Click "Save Profile"

**EDIT 9/19/13**

We have added another skin.  You can now choose from :

* EVGA [Gray Theme]
* EVGA_Light [White Theme]
* EVGA_Classic_V2 [Classic Theme]

Thanks,
Rob

I don't see this when I go to additional options. I am logged in.

The problem with most folks monitors is they aren't calibrated.  My monitor is.  Factories set their brightness up to full... However, even with a calibrated monitor (NEC IPS Panel) it's a bit bright still.  I think it's all the white space.
