I can't get the led to show as white. It's a light blue color.

Is that just how it works? My corsair AIO cooler lights up white just fine.

Well my fans led strips are off too. They are a weird purple white. And my corsair strafe doesn't really turn true white either.

But I know an RGB can be a solid white because my corsair AIO cooler does it

Oh dear. I was primarily going to set it to white myself. I hope its like my g502 where If I set it to a slightly pinkish red white on screen it shows up as a more true white.

Glad I could help. Maybe They could even update the firmware after re calibrating it so that the colours  are more representive of their on screen settings.

Hell, I bet it could be done in a software update. Wonder if this idea is worthy of sharing.

sounds nice - but it might be a limitation due to the led's within the card. Be super amazing if they could make the card pure white through a software update though!

I found an good white shown as more a peach-orange color in EVGA Precision OC.  This isn't EVGA's fault, just the LED controller.  A lot of LED controllers do this...  Check it out, I'm really happy with my new white.  And IMO, if this is the worst issue with these cards, then that's saying something...

Well the fact that ive managed to get mine to look white myself lends credence to the idea that its more a calibration problem than a physical problem with the card.

Re: EVGA FTW 1070 LED Doesn't look white 2016/07/23 17:06:22 (permalink)
As you probably know, it's a RGB LED which means that you have to give it red, green, and blue in order to make "white".  As you probably also know, there is never going to be a perfect white color created by a RGB LED.  You would THINK that 255 red, 255 green, and 255 blue would create white and you would be correct in a perfect world.  Unfortunately, as you have surely noticed, the LED is not a perfect thing and its color calibration is a bit off so that some colors are brighter than others and you need to play with the hue a bit until you get something close to white.

All that being said, if everyone is noticing a similar amount of tweaking is necessary, perhaps EVGA will see that their initial assumptions are way off and can provide a better pre-adjusted calibration in their software.
