Tomorrow I'm going to try to get the chance to see if I can get my Moms computer running and hopefully my other 450 is okay I plan on putting it in instead of the GTX 285.

My Mom's going on a 9 day vacation as of this friday, and what am I kinda excited and happy about?... it isn't a party, it isn't having friends over, ok the doing what I want bit is good yeah, It's that I can fold both computers 24/7 for 9 days and nights.

Side note: Still no word from Madrias since the 10th Sept. Though he's limited to what he can do, he can get online, why he hasn't or isn't is what has me worried.

c6vette

I cranked my folding efforts back up after Punchy's pm. Just a 670 FTW and 4 cores on a 3.87 I7.  Finally figured out how to add in a GTX 8800 I had sitting around.  That added almost 5K PPD.  Not a lot but it can't hurt.  As an added plus I can now use my PC to heat up frozen dinners.  I hate to think how much heat a 4P setup must produce.

Hey c6vette!  Both my rigs turn my normally 17 degree celsius basement into a 24 degree sauna!  It's all for a good cause!!

Okay so tried reseating things (works on my rig every time just about) in Moms computer and put my other 450 in it swapping out  my brothers GTX 285. It now powers on and beeps the usual post beeps but nothing else happens.

Before the above it just powered on no beeps.

I want to get it folding. I swear these computers (mine and Moms) are jinxed after bro touching them hmm .

The irony, I'm a noob and bro did an IT course and got a certificate, I didn't, and my current build is my first build ever.
And I will hopefully get Moms working.

It won't be till next week, when my new ax1200i shows up so the SR2 will not be up till next friday when I get back from a biz trip.  But I have a dell r410 server that I am going to bring online with 2 hexacores this weekend, just don't know how long I will be able to stand the loud ass fans it has.

Just glanced at this thread and noticed nobody responded yet...

If you let it go, does it seem like it's eventually booting to Windows?  I know you can't see the screen, but if it's now posting and booting then you can narrow it down to either the video card or possibly LCD and wiring...  It's always a bit hard to speculate w/o seeing it, but I'd focus on the video card; do you have the 4 pin connector plugged in to the back of the VC? Is there another PCI-E socket you could try? etc.  Are you connecting it DVI or VGA?  If VGA check the pins on the DB-15 and see if one is tweaked or something...  Just start simple.

After I tried the above mentioned reseating I decided to put in my secondary 450 to test it, results on that explained here http://forums.evga.com/fb.ashx?m=1758235, I removed the 450 and did a little maintenance as due to the IDE cable the GPU and Optical drive were crammed in close, the IDE cable was too short by about 1/2 an inch, I rummaged through the bag I put all spare cables in and found a new never used before IDE cable, it was that 1/2 inch longer I needed so I was able to move the optical drive up one bay so now they aren't nose to rear so to speak, also the other IDE cable was quite twisted and crushed had it for years. Once maintenance was done I placed the 285 back in.

All is running fine now so far and am setting up folding.

Well I'll be back, again soon. I had a scare with computer security so I reinstalled windows and after that forgot to write down my settings for my bios when I had 4.4 stable. So in the next week my 40 to 50k should be back online, so just hod them off a little longer guys, YOU CAN DO IT.

Got this as a PM...
Got a 3930K at 4.7 GHz and a GTX 670 at 1227 MHz but I won't be able to do this for a vast amount of time...
