Re:EVGA ACX Cooler for GTX TITAN 2013/10/19 07:40:41 (permalink)
hey there

I am thinking about buying this cooler for my GTX Titan and I am wondering: few weeks ago I bought and installed Arctic Accelero Xtreme III on my card and my question is, can I leave passive heatsinks from Arctic cooler on and install ACX cooler over it or are there some restrictions ?

These passive heatsinks are working great atm so I dont want to put them away. If there is some detailed spec sheet of the ACX I cant find it so I am asking for help :)

Here are pics of the card with heatsinks on:

Thank you for your help !

Any idea when there's going to be more GTX Titan ACX coolers in stock? I'm looking to buy one for my Titan, as it's getting rather hot with my overclock. I live in the UK.

Many thanks.

This may be a really stupid question, but if I buy ACX coolers and replace the stock coolers, do I void the card's warranty?

No, it will not invalidate the warranty, the coolers are sold by EVGA to allow you to change the cooler options.

Out of interest, if anyone is selling the Titan type single fan cooler I'm looking for 2  :)

Just keep the original ones as you would have to put them back on if you had to do an RMA.

I would like to know this as well. Will the ACX Titan cooler fit on a EVGA GTX 780 Ti SC ?

A thread over at [H] casts some serious doubt on whether these ACX coolers (for Titan) will fit the 780 Ti models.  It cites all the people having to dremel down their 780 waterblocks to fit the 780 Ti.

Are these coolers sold out?  I broke a fan blade on a 780ti.  Does EVGA sell small parts like fans?

Re:EVGA ACX Cooler for GTX TITAN 2013/12/18 13:48:39 (permalink)
Ah, just noticed this is no longer a sticky?!?!  I guess these are being discontinued.

FYI, I am about to remove my Titan ACX Coolers and go back to the stock rear-exhaust coolers.

Have two of these ACX coolers was a disaster with my 780 Classified.  I took a big gamble with dumping that amount of heat from two really-overclocked 780 Classifieds with ACX coolers, and lost.  I had no choice as I wanted the 780 Classifieds, but there was no rear-exhaust option like all other Classifieds in the past.

When I got my Titans, they already had the Titan ACX Coolers installed.  I've really tried to use them for the past two weeks; and while the temps are cooler than my 780 Classifieds were, the amount of heat dumped into my chassis from two of these ACX coolers is still just insane.

And guys, I have two 6000 RPM 120x38mm PWM server fans forcing a huge amount of static air over the GPUs.  It's enough to keep internal temps down to around 50C; but, the amount of noise from those fans is just insane.

A single Titan with the ACX is just fine and internal temps are fine.  It's two go way over the line.

Mounted the ACX a few days ago on my "early 780 A1".
No mods, only 106/95 temp prio.

It`s a nice clocker, stock cooler > 1000+ during gaming and benching.
Now with the ACX, clocks are >1050+ during gaming and benching with a lot less noise.

Case isn`t the best vented, but one of the best looking, my2cnts, a Level10.

They stopped making them almost 2 months ago, so unless you find it used, you won't find it more than likely.

To anyone who decides to use their own thermal paste.. please don't **** yourself over by using Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra. I used it on my H100i and the stuff bonded to my H100i heat sync base and I had to use sand paper to get it off, lol.

I'm using MX4 now with a 1-2c bump in temps (If anyone was wondering)

Just a heads up for the guys wondering if these fit 780ti, the short answer is NO. Basically the Baseplate (Not Backplate) does not fit the 780ti reference card. the only way round I can see is to dremel out the parts of the baseplate that wont go over the extra inductor!

I've noticed that the GTX TITAN BLACK SC Edition has an unlocked reference cooling fan, which means it can now be used in a custom fan speed profile up to 100% duty cycle, compared with the TITAN SC (non-BLACK) Edition fan which could only be set to a maximum 85% duty cycle.
