Lots of things it could be. Is the hardware listed in your sig current? How old is your psu? How are your cpu/gpu temps when under load?

If it only happens in Crysis don't play it in DX10 mode. It's only stable if you launch it in DX9 mode.

Try a clean install of the latest drivers to see if it helps get rid of the issue... #1 Uninstall Precision X/Afterburner if installed, make sure to select "no" to saving profiles if asked. Reboot the PC now if you had to uninstall PX or Afterburner. #2 Use DDU (Display driver uninstaller) in safe mode to clean out all your nvidia drivers. Use the clean and restart (highly recommended) option. Use the tool to also clean out all leftover amd stuff. #3 Perform a clean installation of video drivers. - Download & save graphics driver 361.91 (win 7) 361.91 (win 10) to your desktop. Run the graphics installer located on your desktop once the download is complete.
- Select custom advanced install, under custom installation options uncheck all options except the physx system software, if you have a 3D capable monitor and would like to use 3D at some point please select both 3D options, check mark perform clean install, then click next to install the driver, reboot when asked.

In my experience the only time it happens is when I'm pushing an overclock too far. Interested to see what the result of it is, though

The 364.51 drivers are causing a few people problems including me (NVIDIA GeForce forums). Yesterday, I reverted back to the the 362.00 drivers and my problems went away. I haven't had issues this major before. Everything was stuttering that didn't otherwise happen before.
