This is mostly a user forum so its not as if they're going to be actively on here 24/7. They have email and a phone number.. if you need immediate responses perhaps choose more immediate methods of communication?

I can understand your reasons here in this thread but not for the support that should answer in 1-2 working days as stated in the appropriate contact form.

I saw your post, but I do not participate in any of the giveaway portions.

Reading the "How to enter" section of the rafflecopter is very clear and makes absolutely no mention of any cost. Where are you getting the things you posted about?

If you would like to use an affiliate code to register a product, feel free use this one: >Click Here<  This is not my affiliate code! This is a random users code. This code will change often, and you will never be told who it belongs to! If you would like the possibility of your code being listed above, it must be in your signature block. I will not take requests to use a specific code.

No, probably I did not explain well about the cost. In that case I was only explaining how Rafflecopter works. 84$ is the cost for who want to make a giveaway with the referral option. The questions were the others further down.

Ok, your original post makes very little sense to me unfortunately. First, if EVGA paid $84 to have refer a friend enabled, it doesn't effect users and doesn't mean anything to us. That was confusing because it seemed like you were saying you got charged $84.

As for refer a friend, the "How to enter" clearly states that you can get 1 extra entry per user, up to 10 total entries. That isn't confusing or misleading. No where does it state that you get 10 per user or could it be interpreted that way. Where you are getting that someone else can get 50 entire is far beyond confusing unfortunately.

The how to enter also shows that you can get 3 entries (1 per entry option, per account), one for liking on FB, one for EVGA Twitter, and one for Intel twitter. (you can't have two accounts on Facebook or twitter).

You can also get an entry for taking a poll (separate from you twitter or facebook).

Pin the URL in pinterest (separate from your twitter or facebook).

Referring friends (up to 10 entries in total).

If someone else in your home tries to enter, they can not, because it specifically says per household. Anyone with the same address is limited.

Nice to see you again RobB managing with these events.
Dear users and admins, do you know how the Rafflecopter referral system works?
Now I explain it for you. First you have to pay minimum 84$ to have the Viral 'Refer-a-Friend' Entry Option on your widget. Then, for every referred person you gain only 1 entry and not 10 like mistakenly you can think, thanks to the unclear widget description, and you can earn maximum 10 entries more in total! After 10 extra entries you can't earn more entries even if other people enter with your referral link so this means there is no more benefit for you to share the giveaway, if ever it was before. Indeed if you enter without referring, you can earn maximum 5 entries and if you refer 10 persons, they can earn 50 entries without referring compared to you that have earned 15 entries. Already It doesn't seem a big deal but if you consider that Rafflecopter doesn't let you know how many people you referred, you probably are going to decrease your chances of winning instead to increase, so why I should share it? And they call it Viral 'Refer-a-Friend' Entry Option.
Moreover, I'm not sure if Rafflecopter is really adding extra entries when others enter with your referral, indeed I noticed that the total count of the entries always increases by one and not two like you would expect. I wonder why do you prefer this questionable referral system to the one of Gleam.io, that you already use too, with these anniversary events.

Moreover, I would be told one thing. Why in rules is written "Limit Three (3) Online Entries per person, per e-mail address, and per household during the Sweepstakes Period via Online Entry (1 per entry option)" when you can earn 5 online entries per person? It seems a mistake.

I see some stupid question in Scavenger Hunt...
Example question for Define R5 radiator...
Largest Single radiator is 140mm for that case, but such option not exist and than logic answer is largest radiator 420mm.
But that's not radiator for single fan.

I wonder why have to spend all this time to make me understand. My last post about this (hopefully).
If my post is original or not, let judge this to me.
I repeat. I first explained how Rafflecopter works, and the description on the same Rafflecopter widget about the extra entries achievable by sharing is misleading in my opinion. The only way to know clearly that you can earn up to 10 extra entries maximum is in a remote Internet post that explains how it works or grasp it in the "How to enter" and not everyone lose time to read the rules or searching on Internet.
I've also said NOT that one single person can earn up to 50 entries but that the 10 persons you have referred can get a total of 50 entries overall. In my country 5 (entries) x 10 (Referred people) = 50.
In the "How to enter" is written "Limit Three (3) Online Entries per person, per email address, and per household During the Sweepstakes Period via Online Entry (1 for entry option), regardless of Whether a person has more than one address or more than one person uses the same address."
By this statement, it seems that you can enter up to 3 times with 5 options available.
You don't understand the meaning of my so-called from you original post? The sense is that Evga pays to make sure that the event is known, but in reality that referral system limits by itself this thing. It's not convenient for Evga and It's not convenient for those who share it. This is my opinion.

Now, I'm done.

Quick question - how do you do the Instagram entry? I follow EVGA, etc, as required, and I sent a DIRECT message with a picture - is that how it is supposed to be done? Or do I post the picture to public or something. I don't know how to use Instagram.

I just posted it public and added the appropriate hashtags.  At least that's how I understood the instructions.  You also "have to" do it from your phone.  I say "have to" in quotes because apparently there is a workaround to post on Instagram from your PC...

Finally 10 out of 10.  16 hours to enter a competition...if it wasn't for my OCD I would have given up, by far the crapest competition entry I've ever experienced especially when the website is constantly crashing and pages are failing to load.

One of the posts removed was mine, though I was just signaling a dead link redirecting to evga home page.

I couldn't know if there were medals there since the link was dead and still is.

I encountered one more wrong redirect since then,

fix the dead links please.

I encountered 1 dead link to an external website, 5 bad pages that wouldn't load no matter how many refreshes I made over the 16 hours I searched and 8 pages that tried to spawn infinite pop-ups that fortunately my browser blocked.  When you're down to your last two medals, your mind is certain that they're on those pages.

That's precisely why I said they should fix the links that aren't working, otherwise it gives good reasons to doubt about the honesty of this giveaway.

It seems no one from EVGA has listened tho...

It's not always a simple thing. You also can't fix websites without taking them down for extended periods on time. Typically depending upon the platform you can push content out real time but bug fixes aren't as easy.  Also keep in mind each person's pages are different so those down pages may/may not be an issue.  The contest doesn't even for still what another week or so? There is still plenty of time to get the last few medals found.  Just have patience.

Can one or several of you send me bad links/dead pages so I can check?

Thank You,
Rob

Finally some aknowledgment of this issue,
Thank You Rob, seriously. *insert the office THANKYOU.gif*

Now I'm going through all the links again as I still have 4 medals to collect, so it's not a bad idea to double check.
...it will take me some time as the news pages load quite slowly.

PMing you as soos as I got the bad ones.

I understand it's not a simple thing, especially since the site is now under heavy load for the hunt.
Nevertheless, someone running a website like this should anticipate the increase of visits such an event would cause, and act proactively towards the problems bad links and downtimes pose.
But since this is a free event and a nice opportunity to all, I can live with the bad links, the slugginesh & downtimes if there's a honest discourse about the matter and apologies to the hunters; I'm sure EVGA didn't want to lengthen the hunt so much for some users.

In fact, what was a bit upsetting to me is that there has been radio silence on the matter for some days now, as if everything was goin a-ok.

Now Rob has mitigated that, thankfully.
