i'm pretty positive that's not supposed to be happening. i would get in contact with an EVGA tech ASAP and get things situated. it looks like they have the Hybrid kits in stock, so sending u a new unit shouldn't be a problem.

Yesterday I managed to get through the billing page in the preorder process, after I waited a couple of hours. But I didn't go through with it, I decided to wait until next paycheck (since I now know the price and that it's actually possible to get it). Out of curiosity I checked the preorders today again, and got this: "The items for preorder has been sold out or no more are valid to preorder!" Hopefully are more to be released in about 2 weeks or so. The price for 1080 FTW Hybrid is €819 (EVGA store), MSI 1080 Seahawk X is €923-€965 (official MSI retailers price in Sweden). According to the terms for EVGA the VAT is included in the price, so I expect their price not to change after an order is placed. Quite the difference, and I'm glad that I didn't get the Seahawk.

To my understanding EVGA does not bill when you make a pre-order, only when the item ships. On the last page of the checkout I think it said something like that the final price for the card and shipping will be determined when they are ready to ship. So I guess the price could still change.

I would love to get this hybrid Kit for a GTX 1080, but I know without a doubt us Aussies won't see such a kit here for a very long time, so I am just going to Sea Hawk it!

Yeah, it said something along the lines that I won't be charged anything at the time of preordering. Regarding a change in price - I meant more along the lines of VAT/import fees/similar being added afterwards as it seems like they only don't take into consideration any fees related to ordering/shipping to outside of EU.

Thanks! I managed to grab one. Just tired of waiting at this point for the Evga Hybrid 1080, didn't want to play the F5 game for the next several weeks trying to snag a pre-order. Of course, with my luck the Evga Hybrid will be readily available immediately after I receive the MSI card, so you are all welcome. X

Truly feeling let down by EVGA's response (or lack thereof) to this preorder fiasco...

Hello, So does the fact the Evga Hybrid has 8+8 pin vs MSI Sea Hawk with 1 8 pin mean the Evga is better? I prefer Evga for my video cards but I also fan boy Corsair hard I have to admit. I've been researching on the power phase and number of pins but wanted to ask here. I have my whole system built but I am waiting on sli hybrid 1080s...

They are all about the same. All can be overclocked a bit +/-. OC has limits. The Sea Hawk X 8 pin didnt hold back its performance. They have a "OC button", when I press on it, the sea hawk x is 2012MHz. Solid performance on 4K gaming in OC mode. pm me if you want to see the sea hawk x in action at 4K youtube of mine :) 56% increase over my EVGA 4GB 980 ACX 2.0 Dont think EVGA would like the link posted. I stopped by to see how many have their hands on the EVGA hybrid. Shocked! Should be a winner! "I am waiting on sli hybrid 1080s" I have been looking for a case to do this also. What case you plan to carry these 2 hybrids?

While have been waiting, Nvidia has launched the Titan X Pascal. Odds have it, we will probably get the 1080 Hybrid in Europe when Nvidia launches the 1080 Ti. The time it has taken for EVGA to release their 1080 Hybrid, sometimes I wonder if EVGA is producing everything themself, down to the nuts, bolts and transistors.

I haven't seen a bit of evidence that would lead me to think there is going to be a 1080 ti card at all. Yet so many are convinced based on previous releases. I'm not saying it's not going to happen, but I'll believe it when I see it.

I'm seriously considering an open-box EVGA 1080 FE at Microcenter for $629 then slapping the new Hybrid kit onto it for $120. Did the same for my current 980 Ti SC and it overclocks like a champ.

Floppy ribbon SLI bridges are more susceptible to electromagnetic interference (EMI), so no thanks. I'll stick to the hard bridges :P

I wish Corsair would come out with the bracket to connect one of their AIO's to the GPU. Waiting sucks but it is better for them to take their time and make a good product then rush and ruin it.
